    Installation instructions for the STI Global ReSet® GLR Series signaling initiating station — a single-action, non-coded manual alarm station used to send a single alarm-initiating signal to a control panel.

    Description and Operation

    Global ReSet is a single-action, non-coded manual signaling initiating station. It provides the control panel a single alarm-initiating input signal, activated by pushing the clear lens (indicated by arrows and a hand symbol). Once activated, a yellow-and-black flag drops into view behind the lens. To reset, a special key is inserted into a hole in the bottom of the unit and rotated.

    Model Number Key

    Model format: "GLR" followed by "abcd-e", where GLR is the fixed designator.

    • a — Station color: 0=Red, 1=Green, 2=Yellow, 3=White, 4=Blue, 5=Orange
    • b — Cover option: 0=No cover, 2=Shield, A=Shield/deterrent sounder
    • c — Switch configuration: 1=DPDT Key-to-Reset
    • d — Message text: 2 letters indicating standard or custom text
    • e — Language: 2 letters indicating the language of the "d" text

    Frame Mounting

    The frame mounts to a single-gang box, double-gang box, four-square box, 60.3mm European box, or the optional KIT-GLR-BB back box.

    Recommended mounting height: not less than 1.1m (3-1/2 ft.) or greater than 1.37m (4-1/2 ft.) above the finished floor surface.

    Cover Removal and Installation

    To Remove the Cover

    1. Insert 2 prongs of the key into the matching holes on the bottom of the unit.
    2. Pull the bottom of the unit out and lift the cover off the tabs on the frame.

    To Install the Cover

    1. Insert the tabs on the inside top of the cover into the slots on the frame.
    2. Rotate the cover down and snap the bottom onto the frame.

    Activation and Reset

    An activation flag shows behind the lens when triggered.

    To Reset the Unit

    1. Insert the key until it engages the flag.
    2. Turn to the left until the button resets.

    Sound and Flashing LED Installation (optional accessory)

    1. Place the volume jumper to the desired sounder volume (default: high).
    2. With the shield removed, insert the sounder PCB edge into the PCB guides and rotate; the PCB will lay flat when properly installed.
    3. Insert the screw and tighten until snug — do not over-tighten.
    4. Install the shield and rotate to the closed position.
    5. Check operation by rotating the shield fully open, then back to closed, ensuring the button lever presses down onto the button.
    6. Pull the mylar battery tab with the battery remaining installed (this activates the sounder).
    7. Mount the cover with shield onto the frame.

    Battery: CR123A lithium battery. Wire size: 12–24 AWG; strip wires 1/4" (6–7mm).

    Terminal Configuration

    DPDT contact rating: 5A @ 30VAC, 1A @ 42VDC. Wire size: 12–22 AWG; strip wires 1/4" (6–7mm). Indoor use only, 14°F to 120°F (-10°C to 49°C).

    • It is the installer's responsibility to comply with NFPA70 and 101, NEC, Canadian Electrical Code Part 1 mounting specifications, ADA requirements, and other applicable fire and electrical codes.
    • After installation and testing are complete, provide a copy of this manual to all personnel responsible for testing and maintenance. Regular testing per NFPA standards is required.
    • Latching push button not evaluated to ULC S319.
