    Quick install guide for the STI Exit Stopper® Series (STI-6400 series) door alarm — set-up, mounting, and switch settings.

    Setup

    1. Ensure the key is in the OFF position.
    2. Remove the security screw with the provided wrench.
    3. Remove the cover from the base; push on the lock to separate.
    4. Choose the switch setting — refer to the switch settings table below (default settings shown on side 2).
    5. Unwrap the battery and connect.
    6. Connect the terminal block (for remote power and relay options) — refer to the full install guide online for wiring connections.
    7. Test: place a magnet next to the reed switch, turn the key switch on, then separate the magnet from the reed.
    8. Apply a language label if desired.

    Mounting

    1. Place the reed switch at the desired location (top, right, bottom, or left).
    2. Position the base. Mark and drill four (4) holes 1" (25mm) deep. For a plastic anchor, drill 3/16" (4.5mm); for wood or steel, drill 9/64" (3.5mm). Mount using (4) M4 x 25mm screws.
    3. Install the reed magnet: mark with a pencil, drill, and install using a plastic anchor (drill 3/16"/4.5mm) or into wood/steel (drill 1/8"/3mm). Mount with (2) M3.5 x 32mm screws.
    4. Test: turn key on, open door.
    5. Replace the cover — snap the lid from the top and secure with the security screw.

    Switch Settings

    Function Setting
    Arming Immediate (default) or 15-second delay
    Trip Immediate (default) or 15-second delay
    Shut-off Based on duration (default) or approx. 3 sec. after door closes
    Duration 30-sec alarm (default), 180-sec alarm, continuous alarm, or 30-sec annunciator mode
    Low battery detection On, switch off (default) or off, switch on
    Volume High (default) or low
    Dry contact relay function Off (default) or on

    Note: Disconnect all power sources before changing switch settings.
