    Full text manual (for reference)

User manual for the Speco Technologies P24S26G2 26-Port Gigabit PoE Unmanaged Switch — 24 PoE ports plus 2 SFP uplink ports, for powering and networking IP cameras, wireless access points, and other PoE devices.

    Description & Packing List

The P24S26G2 is a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet PoE switch with 2 additional SFP uplink ports. Package contents:

    • Switch (see product label for specific model)
    • Power cable (pluggable or built-in power module, depending on version)
    • Mounting brackets and screws (rack type standard)
    • User manual and certification documents

    Installation

Supports desktop, wall-mount, and rack-mount installation depending on environmental requirements. PoE and standard Ethernet switch installation methods are the same.

    Rack Mount Installation

    1. Install 4 floating screws on the front hole bar of the cabinet, on each side.
    2. Load the equipment into the cabinet.
    3. Use M6 screws to secure the equipment to the cabinet/rack.
    4. Install the earth wire to the earth connection point.

    Installation Precautions

    • Do not install in an environment prone to seepage, drips, or condensation — the equipment could burn out.
    • Ensure well-ventilated installation; never block the cooling holes.
    • Do not install in a high-density dust environment.
    • If rack-mounted in a natural heat-dissipation environment, ensure separation distance exceeds 1U.
    • Do not run aerial cabling outdoors — risk of lightning strike.

    Safety Precautions

    • Do not look directly at the optical port — laser beam can burn your eyes.
    • Do not install/remove the power cord while power is on — risk of personal injury.
    • Do not supply power before equipment installation and wiring are complete.
    • ESD protection is necessary during installation and maintenance.
    • Do not place objects on top of the device.

    Connecting Equipment

    • Network cable: 10Base-T: Cat3/4/5 or above UTP (≤250m). 100Base-TX: Cat5 or above UTP (≤150m). 1000Base-TX: Cat5 or above UTP (≤100m).
    • Grounding: Ensure the equipment's grounding screw is effectively grounded for safety.
    • Optical fiber: Must be used with the optical module; fiber bending radius must not be less than 40mm.
    • Power cable: Keep power cable at least 10cm from network cable; use the local AC power cable for your region.

    Indicator Lights

    Indicator State Meaning
PWR Off / On No power input / device operating normally
1000M optical port — Link/act (Green) On / Off / Flash Port connected / not connected / sending or receiving data
    1000M optical port — Speed (Yellow) On / Off 1000M connected / 10/100M connected
10/100/1000M Ethernet — Link/act (Green) On / Off / Flash Port connected / not connected / sending or receiving data
    10/100/1000M Ethernet — Speed (Yellow) On / Off 1000M connected / 10/100M connected

    PoE Powered Function

    Applicable to PoE switches only.

    • Standard PoE power supply includes: protocol detection, power pin sequence detection, power output, abnormal protection, and link abnormal monitoring.
    • Supported PoE protocols: IEEE802.3af (15.4W), IEEE802.3at (30W).
    • Standard PoE power pin sequence is 12+/36-; passive PoE power pin sequence is 45+/78-.
    • Standard PoE switches automatically detect and supply power only to PDs that meet the standard — non-PoE devices are not powered, only data is transmitted.
    • PoE Watchdog: When switch port communication fails, the corresponding port's PoE automatically detects the failure, restarts, and restores network communication without manual intervention.

    DIP Switch Settings

    DIP Function Description
1 PoE Watchdog When a switch port communication failure is detected, the corresponding PoE port automatically detects and restarts, restoring network communication by itself.
2 Link Extension 1-24 ports PoE power supply and data transmission distance can be extended to 250 meters; transmission rate becomes 10M.
3 Port Isolation PoE ports (1-24) of the switch cannot communicate with each other, and can only communicate with uplink ports.
4 Storm Control Enables the switch to monitor traffic levels and drop broadcast, multicast, and unknown unicast packets when a specified traffic level is exceeded.
