Important Safeguards and Warnings

Electrical Safety

All installation and operation must conform to local electrical safety codes. Use a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 power supply only. Do not connect two power sources to the device simultaneously — it may cause damage. The product must be grounded to reduce shock risk. Improper handling/installation risks fire or electrical shock.

Environment

Avoid heavy stress, violent vibration, or water exposure during transport, storage, and installation. Install in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and away from extreme temperatures or electromagnetic radiation (which can cause CMOS sensor failure). Do not block ventilation openings or allow water/liquid intrusion.

Operation and Daily Maintenance

Shut down and unplug the power cable before any maintenance. Do not touch the CMOS sensor optic component — use a blower for dust on the lens surface. Use a dry soft cloth for general cleaning; for heavier dust, use a cloth dampened with mild neutral detergent, then dry. Use professional optical cleaning methods on the enclosure — improper cleaning (e.g., with cloth) can degrade IR performance/reflection. Ground the product's grounding holes for added reliability. For the dome cover (an optical component), never touch or wipe the surface directly:

• Dirt: Use an oil-free soft brush or hair dryer to remove gently.
• Grease/fingerprints: Use an oil-free cotton cloth or paper soaked with alcohol or detergent, wiping from lens center outward; change cloth and repeat as needed.

Warning: Installation and all examination/repair must be performed only by qualified personnel. Unauthorized changes or modifications void the warranty.

Web Access and Login

Camera settings are accessed via a web browser (Internet Explorer 8+) over the LAN.

1. Ensure the PC and IP camera are on the same local network. The camera defaults to DHCP, so the local network needs a DHCP server (most routers include one).
2. Install and run IP Scanner from the included CD to discover cameras on the local network.
3. The device list shows each device's IP address, model number, and MAC address. Double-click the applicable device to open the web viewer, or manually enter the IP address in the browser's address bar.
4. Log in with the default username admin and password 1234. Follow prompts to install required plug-ins for viewing video.

Live View

The live view interface provides controls for resolution/fit mode, full screen, start/stop live view and recording, two-way audio, snapshots, PTZ control (for compatible external PTZ enclosures via RS485), and zoom/focus (motorized models). Status indicator icons flash when corresponding events (motion, line crossing, intrusion, face detection, sensor alarm, etc.) are enabled and triggered. In full-screen mode, double-click the mouse or press ESC to exit.

Presets can be called, saved, or deleted from the PTZ control panel for compatible enclosures.

Camera Configuration

Press the "Setup" button to enter the configuration interface. Always click "Save" to apply settings.

System Configuration

• System Information — displays device system details.
• Date and Time — set time zone, enable/disable DST, and set date/time.
• Local Recording — configure the storage path for captured pictures/videos on the local PC, and enable/disable bitrate display. Smart-event snapshots (face detection, line crossing, intrusion) can also be saved locally.
• Storage — manage the SD card (format, eject), set snapshot/video capacity quotas, configure schedule recording (weekly or day-specific schedules, with holiday schedules taking priority), and set snapshot format/resolution/quality plus timing snapshot intervals.

Video Configuration

• Image Settings — brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, WDR (Wide Dynamic Range — improves images with both very bright and very dark areas; recording pauses briefly when switching WDR modes), sharpness, DNR (digital noise reduction), and Defog (for foggy/dusty/smoggy/rainy environments). Common and day/night modes can be configured separately.
• Video/Audio Configuration — stream settings.
• OSD Configuration — on-screen display settings.
• Video Mask — privacy masking.
• ROI Configuration — region of interest settings.

Analytics Configuration

Smart analytics available: Abnormality detection (scene change, video blur, video color cast), Line Crossing (with human/vehicle classification), Intrusion (region-based, human/vehicle classification), Face Detection, Region Entrance, Region Exiting, and Target Counting.

Network Configuration

• TCP/IP and Port settings, Server Configuration, DDNS, SNMP, 802.1x
• RTSP — main/sub/third stream multicast address formats: rtsp://IP:rtsp_port/profile1?transportmode=mcast (and profile2/profile3 for sub/third streams). If "Allow anonymous login" is checked, no username/password is required to view video.
• UPNP — enable for quick LAN access; requires a UPnP name.
• Email — configure sender address, credentials, SMTP server/port, secure connection type, send interval (e.g., a 60-second interval collapses multiple alarms within that window into a single email), and recipient address. Use "Test" to verify the connection.
• FTP — configure server name/address, upload path, port, and credentials so captured event pictures upload automatically.
• HTTPS — a default certificate is pre-installed; enable and save to access via https://IP:https_port. A private certificate can be created or a signed certificate imported via "Create a certificate request."
• QoS — set Video/Audio DSCP, Alarm DSCP, and Manager DSCP (range 0–63; higher number = higher priority) to manage bandwidth-constrained networks.

Security Configuration

• User Admin — add users with username, password (per configured security level), user type (Administrator: full permissions; Normal: view live video only; Advanced: same as Administrator except user management, backup settings, factory reset, and firmware upgrade), and optional MAC-address binding. Note: changing a user's access level requires deleting and re-adding the user. The default administrator account cannot be deleted.
• Online User — view/kick currently connected users (an administrator can kick out any user, including other administrators).
• Block and Allow Lists — enable address filtering by IPv4/IPv6/MAC to block or allow specific addresses.
• Security Management — enable lockout after six failed login attempts (unlocks after a half hour or device reboot). Configure Password Security level: Weak (any one category — numbers, special characters, upper/lower case), Medium (9–15 characters, at least two categories), or Strong (9–15 characters, all four categories required).

Maintenance Configuration

• Backup and Restore — import/export configuration settings between cameras; "Load Default" restores factory settings (with optional exceptions).
• Reboot — manual reboot, or configure a Timed Reboot schedule.
• Upgrade — browse to the firmware file and click Upgrade; the device restarts automatically. Caution: do not close the browser or disconnect the camera during the upgrade.
• Operation Log — search and export logs by main/sub type and date range.

Search

Image Search

Search locally-saved (PC) or SD-card images by date/time range, with optional alarm-event filtering for SD card searches. Tools include close/close-all, save/save-all, fit/actual size, zoom in/out, and slide-show playback with adjustable speed.

Video Search

Local Video Search: search PC-recorded videos by date/time; double-click a file to play, with play/pause/stop, speed up/down, watermark display, and audio volume controls.

SD Card Video Search: search SD-card recordings by date/time and alarm event, with mixed (video+audio) or video-only stream options. The timeline can display in 24H/12H/2H/1H format. To clip and download a video: search the files, click the time table to select a start time, click the start-time button (turns blue), select and set the end time similarly, then click the download button to save the clip to the PC. Use "Set up" to choose the storage directory, "Open" to play, and "Clear List"/"Close" to manage the download queue.

Troubleshooting

• IP Scanner shows no device: confirm the PC running IP Scanner is on the same local network as the camera.
• Internet Explorer cannot download ActiveX control: in IE, go to Tools → Internet Options → Security → Custom Level, enable all options under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins," then click OK.
• No sound: confirm the audio input device is connected, and that audio is enabled on the corresponding channel.
