Quick start installation guide for the Speco O4VD1 — a 4MP H.265 IP dome camera with analytics, covering safety warnings, package contents, wiring, mounting, and initial web login.

    Overview

The O4VD1 is a 4MP H.265 IP dome camera with built-in analytics. This quick start guide covers unpacking, cable connection, physical installation, and first-time network setup/login.

    Important Safeguards & Warnings

    • Electrical safety: Use only a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 power supply. Do not connect two power sources to the device simultaneously — this can cause device damage. The product must be grounded to reduce risk of electric shock.
    • Environment: Avoid heavy stress, vibration, or water exposure during transport/installation. Install in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid extreme temperatures and electromagnetic radiation (can cause CMOS sensor failure). Do not block ventilation openings or allow water/liquid intrusion.
    • Operation & maintenance: Power down and unplug before maintenance. Do not touch the CMOS sensor optic directly — use a blower for dust. Clean with a dry soft cloth (or lightly dampened with neutral detergent for heavy dust). Use professional optical cleaning methods for the enclosure — improper cleaning (e.g. with cloth) can affect IR function/reflection. Ground the product's grounding holes for added reliability.
    • Dome cover care: Don't touch or wipe the cover surface directly. For dirt, use an oil-free soft brush or hair dryer. For grease/fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth or paper soaked with alcohol or detergent, wiping from the lens center outward; change cloth and repeat if needed.
    • This camera should be installed and serviced only by qualified personnel. Unauthorized changes/modifications void the warranty.

    Camera Overview / Connections

    # Component
    1 Ethernet connector
    2 Power connector
    3 Micro SD card slot
    4 Reset

Note: A DC 12V power supply is not required if a PoE switch or injector is used to power the camera. A security cap is recommended for outdoor installations.

    Connecting the Network Cable

    1. Loosen the nut from the main element.
    2. Run the network cable (without RJ45 connector) through both elements, then crimp the cable with an RJ45 connector.
    3. Connect the cable to the hermetic connector, then tighten the nut and the main cover.

    Installation Steps

Before you start: make sure the wall or ceiling is strong enough to withstand three times the weight of the camera.

    1. Install the junction box onto the wall using the screws provided.
    2. Loosen the screws to open the lower dome.
    3. Connect the cables, mount the rubber plug into the gap of the mounting base, and fasten the camera onto the junction box.
    4. Three-axis adjustment: before adjustment, preview the image on a monitor, then adjust the camera for optimum angle (Pan 0°~355°, Tilt 0°~67°, Rotation 0°~355°).
    5. Install the lower dome back onto the camera and fix it with the screws.

    Web Operation & Login

    1. Make sure the camera and PC are connected to the same local network. The camera is set to DHCP by default.
    2. Install and run the IP Scanner utility from the included CD.
    3. In the device list, view the IP address, model number, and MAC address of each device. Select the device and double-click to open the web viewer, or manually enter the IP address in the browser address bar.
    4. At the login screen, the default username is admin and default password is 1234. After logging in, follow directions to install applicable plugins.
