User manual for the Speco O2D60M — a mega-pixel, dual-codec (H.264, MJPEG) turret-style IP network camera with integrated PoE (IEEE 802.3af), designed for security surveillance, remote monitoring, teleconferencing, and internet broadcasting applications. Vandal- and weather-proof housing extends its use to harsh outdoor environments.

Connector Layout

The camera body has six main connectors: (1) Network Port, (2) BNC Video Out, (3) Power In, (4) Ground, (5) Audio In/Out, (6) Alarm In/Out.

• Power: 12V 1A DC power input. Caution: if powered via PoE, do not simultaneously plug in an active DC power jack.
• Audio In (MIC/LINE): connects an external audio source or microphone.
• Audio Out (Line): connects speakers with a built-in amplifier for bi-directional audio.
• RJ-45 Ethernet/PoE: 100Mbps connector with standard PoE (802.3af).
• Sensor In: connects an external alarm sensor (infrared, motion, heat/smoke, magnetic, etc.); sensor type (NC/NO) is configurable in the admin page; multiple sensors can be wired in parallel.
• Factory Default Switch: located under the cover — press for about 5 seconds while powered to reset to factory defaults.

Installation Overview

1. Screw the bottom cover to the wall or ceiling using the provided mounting screws and template.
2. Connect network cable, power adapter, and any external devices (audio, sensor, alarm).
3. Adjust the lens angle for the desired view; focus and zoom can be adjusted remotely after installation.
4. Tighten all screws before applying power.

Warning: Confirm the wall or ceiling can adequately support the camera's weight before mounting — an inadequate mounting surface risks the camera falling and causing damage or injury.

Getting Started / Quick Installation

• PC requirements: Minimum Intel Core i3, 2GB RAM, Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8, 100 Base-T Ethernet. Recommended: Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM, Windows 7/8 (64-bit), IE8+, 1GB video RAM.
• Network connection: connect the PC and camera to the network; if using standard PoE, the LAN switch must support 802.3af — otherwise power via the DC adapter.
• IP Scanner: a discovery utility (included on CD or downloadable from specotech.com) that finds cameras on the local subnet — the camera ships in DHCP mode. Double-click the discovered device to open the web viewer (default browser must be Internet Explorer).
• Web Viewer login: enter the camera's IP address in Internet Explorer's address bar (port 80 by default, or specify a custom port e.g. 8080). Default login is admin / 1234. Allow the ActiveX control install prompt to view video.
• Settings: click "Setup" in the web viewer to access all camera parameters, which ship at factory defaults.
