    Installation and operation manual for the Sonic Alert DB200 Wireless Doorbell & Telephone Signaler — a two-piece wireless system (DB Sensor + DB200 Signaler) that flashes a light and/or sounds a chime when someone rings the doorbell, works an intercom/buzzer, or triggers another connected source.

    Overview

    The DB200 Signaler receives an RF radio signal from the companion DB Sensor and flashes a lamp plugged into its built-in outlet (300 watt or less incandescent bulb only). It can also relay the signal to other Sonic Alert receivers throughout the home. The system works with or without an existing doorbell/chime and with existing buzzer/intercom systems. Features include a selectable number of flashes (5 or 10), distinct flash codes for front door, rear door, or intercom, a built-in chime (with on/off switch), and support for an additional sensor (sold separately) for a second door or source. Must be used only with Sonic Alert receivers — other manufacturers' products are not reliable with this system.

    Installation

    Follow the diagram matching your installation type (diagrams 1–5, printed on the physical manual). If using diagrams 1–4, a 9-volt alkaline battery is required in the DB Sensor. Before installing, check the switches on the DB200 Sensor — do not change dip switches 1–6, they are pre-set at the factory, but it is critical that the switch settings on both units (Signaler and Sensor) match.

    DB Sensor Dip Switch Settings (smaller unit, 8 switches)

    • Switches 1–3: ON. Switches 4–6: OFF (factory default). Change only to avoid interference with a neighbor's DB100/DB200 — and if you do, change both the Signaler and Sensor to match.
    • Switch 8 (flash count): ON = unit flashes 5 times when someone is at the door; OFF = unit flashes 10 times. Useful when using a second sensor — set one sensor ON and the other OFF to distinguish them.
    • Switch 7 (2-sensor front/back mode): If using only one sensor, set ON — flashes at a fast rate with a "ding/dong" sound. If using two sensors (front + back door), set the 2nd sensor's switch 7 to OFF — that sensor flashes at a slower rate with a "dong/dong" sound, distinct from the front door's fast ding/dong.

    DB200 Signaler Dip Switches (larger unit)

    The Audio Alarm speaker switch turns the audio alarm ON (up position) or OFF (down position). Dip switches 1–6 on the Signaler must match the DB Sensor's switches 1–6 (factory default: 1–3 ON, 4–6 OFF). Switches 7 and 8 on the Signaler itself are inactive and can be left in either position.

    Function Switch (on back of DB Sensor)

    • Top position — Intercom / Buzzer System / Wireless Chime Box: use installation diagrams 3 & 4.
    • Center position — Outside Doorbell Button Only: use installation diagrams 1 & 2.
    • Bottom position — Hard-Wired to Existing Doorbell Chime Box: use installation diagram 5.

    Multi-Function Input Jack

    Located on the left side of the DB Sensor. Used for installations shown in diagrams 2 & 5. When wiring to this jack, make sure the wires are not touching each other.

    Troubleshooting

    Step Check
    1 Check the battery in the sensor — must be a 9-volt alkaline type.
    2 Confirm dip switch settings 1–6 match on both the sensor and the signaler.
    3 Check the outlet for power.
    4 Move the Signaler to an outlet closer to the sensor unit.
    5 If using the Multi-Function input jack, make sure the wires aren't touching each other.
    6 Check the Function setting switch is in the proper position for your installation type.
    7 Contact Sonic Alert technical support (see below).

    Warranty

    Sonic Alert warrants the DB200 against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for 5 years from the date of purchase. Within this period, Sonic Alert will repair or replace the DB200 at their option, without charge for parts and labor.
