  • Skylink AD-105 — Dial-Alert Emergency Dialer User Guide

    September 08, 2026 5 min read

Complete user guide for the Skylink Dial-Alert AD-105 emergency dialer, covering installation, programming, sensor compatibility, and troubleshooting.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Complete user guide for the Skylink Dial-Alert AD-105, a landline-based emergency dialer that automatically calls up to 9 phone numbers and plays a pre-recorded message when triggered by a control panel or wireless sensors.

    Overview

The AD-105 emergency dialer can call multiple phone numbers during an emergency and playback prerecorded messages. It supports two operating modes:

    • SC-001 Mode — works with the Skylink SC-001 control panel. When the SC-001 alarm activates, it sends a panic signal to the dialer, which calls up to 9 phone numbers and plays a 40-second pre-recorded message.
    • Sensor Mode — works with sensors programmed directly to the AD-105. When a sensor triggers, the dialer calls the programmed numbers and plays back voice messages (one primary 9-second message plus up to 6 unique 5-second sensor-specific messages).

    Package Contents

    • Dial-Alert (AD-105) with antenna installed
    • Telephone line and AC adapter
    • 9-volt alkaline battery (backup power)
    • Screws, anchors, and mounting template
    • Double-sided tape, user's instructions, warranty card, quick guide

    Compatible Sensors and Accessories

Only Skylink-listed sensors are supported — using unlisted devices may cause unreliable communication.

    Category Models
    4-Button Transmitter 4B-101, 4B-434
    Panic Transmitter PT-434, HW-434
    Keypad Transmitter KP-434
    Control Panel SC-001
    Door/Window Sensor WD-101
    Motion Sensor PS-101
    Temperature Sensor TS-101A
    Vibration Sensor VS-101
    Flood Sensor FS-101
    Audio Sensor AS-101
    Garage Door Monitor™ Sensor GS-101

Panic devices (4-Button Transmitter, Panic Transmitter, Keypad Transmitter) always dial out when pressed, regardless of armed/disarmed status. Sensors only trigger the dialer when it is armed.

    Installation

    1. Position the dialer beside a telephone or phone line, within reach of an electrical outlet (hidden placement recommended for security).
    2. Open the case by pressing the two top tabs and pulling the front open.
    3. Thread the telephone line through the top back hole into the "LINE" jack. If using an answering machine on the same line, thread it through the bottom hole into the "PHONE" jack (this optional line disconnects when the dialer activates, without affecting dialer operation).
    4. Thread the AC adapter cord through the top hole and plug into the AC connector on the circuit board.
    5. Insert the 9V battery and rotate the antenna to the outside.
    6. Close the case firmly and secure the two screws near the tabs.
    7. Mount using the template — three options: double-sided tape (temporary), hanging from two keyhole slots on stationary screws, or screwing the back onto the wall with four screws.
    8. Plug the phone cord into a wall jack and the AC adapter into a power outlet. The red AC PWR light and keypad backlight will turn on.

Speaker On/Off Switch: Located on the lower right of the circuit board. Must be ON during programming/recording. Can be turned off afterward for silent dialing (default: On).

    Lights and Sounds

    Indicator Meaning
ACPWR light on/off Powered by AC adapter / no AC power
LOBATT. light on/off Battery weak, needs replacement / battery OK
ARM light on Armed — will dial on sensor or panic signal
ARM light off Will only dial on panic signal, not sensor activation
    Short beep Key pressed correctly
Two short beeps First power-up, or transmitters/sensors erased from memory
    Long beep Entry mistake
Steady repeated beep Triggered in DELAY mode — time to disarm before dialing

    Standard Programming

Default password is 0000. Each programming step has a 10-second timeout. Press [PROG] to enter programming mode ([P] shown), then use the numbered options below.

Program # Function Settings Factory Default
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[1] Operating Mode [1] Sensor Mode, [2] SC-001 Mode 2
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[2] Change Password Any 4-digit password 0000
[PIN]+[PROG]+[3] Voice Message Recording [0] Main Message, [1-6] Secondary Messages N/A
[PIN]+[PROG]+[4] Phone Number [1-9] up to 9 phone numbers N/A
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[5] Program Sensors/Transmitters Up to 16 devices N/A
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[6] Erase Sensors/Transmitters Erases all devices N/A
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[7] Calling Time [1]-30, [2]-45, [3]-60, [4]-75, [5]-90 seconds 45 sec.
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[8] Entry/Exit Delay [1] Instant, [2]-30, [3]-45, [4]-60, [5]-75 seconds Instant
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[9] Pick-up Pause [1]-1 sec ... [9]-9 seconds 5 sec.
    [PIN]+[PROG]+[*1] Universal Dial Tone [1] Off, [2] On 1

You must record a voice message AND program at least one phone number before the dialer will work — the display shows "not rEAdy" until both are complete, then "rEAdy" once configured. New settings that are accepted emit 2 beeps; if not accepted, retry.

Phone numbers can include a Normal Pause (insert with [PROG] mid-number, e.g. dial 123, pause, then 4567) or a single Pick-up Pause per number (useful for answering machines — waits after the line is picked up before playing the message).

    Operations

    • SC-001 Mode: Dials automatically when it receives a panic signal from the alarm panel or its own panic button — no need to arm.
    • Sensor Mode: Must be armed to respond to sensor signals (panic transmitters/buttons still work unarmed). To arm: enter password, press the arm key — ARM LED turns on. If exit delay is set, "dELAy" flashes/beeps during the exit period.
    • Receiving a call: Enter [#] to stop the dialer from calling that same number again (moves to the next number), or enter the 4-digit password to stop all further calls and return to standby.

    Advanced Programming Notes

    • Dial Sequence: By default the dialer calls each number once in order, then repeats the full sequence for remaining redial counts.
    • Universal Dial Tone: Enable if the dialer fails to detect a valid dial tone on your phone system — it will then dial regardless of tone detection.
    • Entry/Exit Delay (Sensor Mode): Gives time to leave/return before the dialer starts monitoring or must be disarmed.
    • Connecting to an existing alarm system: Either hardwire via N.C. latching dry contact, or use the Audio Sensor (AS-101) placed near the siren — no wiring required, the AS-101 hears the alarm and triggers the dialer.

    Battery Maintenance

The AD-105 uses one 9V alkaline backup battery (~2 years typical life). Test periodically. To replace: undo the two rear screws, open the case by pressing the top tabs, disconnect the old battery, connect the new one, and reassemble.
