    September 08, 2026 3 min read

Specification sheet for the Simply Automated Anywhere 3-Way On/Off Switch Kit (V3WAY-A) and add-on switch (US1-V0) — powerline 3-way switching without traveler wires.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Specification sheet for the Simply Automated Anywhere 3-Way On/Off Switch Kit (Model V3WAY-A) and the companion Anywhere On/Off Switch add-on (Model US1-V0) — powerline-communication 3-way (and multi-way) light switches that need no traveler wires or batteries.

    Overview

The Anywhere 3-Way On/Off Switch Kit includes two high-quality professional-grade 900W switches that replace existing mechanical switches and provide 3-way on/off control using the existing switch wiring (a white neutral wire connection is required) — no traveler wires or batteries needed. It's a cost-effective alternative to running new wiring or using unreliable wireless DIY 3-way switches.

For 4-way, 5-way, or more-way applications, one or more add-on Anywhere On/Off Switches (model US1-V0) can be added to work in unison with the V3WAY-A switches.

    Features / Benefits

    • 3-way control anywhere on the property — communicates over 1000+ feet on a single circuit
    • Replaces existing mechanical switches using the same wires (white neutral wire required)
    • No traveler wires or batteries required; each switch turns on/off both switches' 900W circuits
    • 900W or 7.5 Amps max, 1W min — controls most any load
    • Blue-Green status LED for off/on indication
    • Thermal overload protection and patented heat sink design for cool, long-life operation
    • Four communication channels — allows up to 4 separate pairs in the home, avoiding interaction with neighbors' switches
    • Advanced powerline communication technology transmits over 1 mile on 14-gauge wire — no RF emissions, reliable even around stereo equipment, ham radios, cordless phones, and wireless devices
    • Color change kits (Model ZS11, sold separately) — removable faceplates in almond, light almond, ivory, black, or brown

    Typical Applications

Controls incandescent, fluorescent, halogen, LED, magnetic, and electronic low-voltage lighting transformers & ballasts. Remote control for room, basement, garage, barn, driveway, pathway, security, yard, and dock lighting, plus motors, pumps, fans, and appliances under 900 watts (7.5 amps).

Press the top of the rocker to turn on both switches (status LED shines green); press the bottom to turn off both switches (LED shines blue). Status LEDs indicate whether the remote light/load is on or off even when it isn't visible/audible.

    Circuit Requirements & Notes

    • Hot and neutral (black and white) power connections are required at both switch locations.
    • Up to 4 Anywhere 3-Way Switch Kits can be used in a home, each using one of the 4 available communication channels. Any number of add-on Anywhere Switches (US1-V0) can be added per channel for 4-way, 5-way, or more-way control.
    • Easiest installation: both switches on the same circuit (breaker). Next best: same phase, different breakers. A phase coupler (model ZPCI) may be needed if switches are on opposite phases, especially in homes larger than 2,500 sq. ft.
    • Not for 3-phase (commercial/condo) power applications unless switches share a breaker or phase — otherwise a three-phase repeater (model UTR) is required.
    • Not compatible with Simply Automated's PC-Configured, Pre-Configured, SimplySmart™, or other UPB/UPStart configured product lines — only with the "Anywhere" product line.
