  • Sensative Strips Drip — Z-Wave Water Leak Multi-Sensor Instruction Manual

    September 08, 2026 3 min read

Instruction manual for the Sensative Strips Drip — a Z-Wave multi-sensor water leak detector with temperature and light sensing, including full configuration parameters and LED signal reference.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Instruction manual for the Sensative Strips Drip (model 11 02 012/2) — a Z-Wave multi-sensor water leak detector with temperature and light sensing, compatible with any certified Z-Wave system.

    Overview

Strips Drip is a water leak sensor that also reports temperature and ambient light. Its range is up to 40 meters, extendable by any non-battery Z-Wave device between Strips Drip and the controller (which acts as a repeater). It uses low-power (<2 dBm) radio signals at 868.42/869.85 MHz (EU) or 908.4/916.0 MHz (US/Canada).

Adding Strips Drip to Your Z-Wave Network

Strips Drip ships in auto-add mode.

    1. Set your Z-Wave controller into add mode (see your controller's manual).
    2. Keep Strips Drip near its intended install location; remove the included magnet.
    3. Your controller's app should automatically add Strips Drip.
    4. To verify, hold the sensor firmly against its target surface for about 15 seconds — it will sense the proximity and send a leakage alarm as confirmation.

Note: Auto-add mode starts the first time the magnet is removed out of the box. If auto-add doesn't work, use the "Wake Up" command (below) instead.

Do not remove Strips Drip if a leak occurs — the sensor pads will dry naturally once the water is gone.

    Mounting Strips Drip

    1. Remove the protective tape from the Strips Drip adhesive.
    2. Mount Strips Drip on the marked "Strips side" of the included mounting plate.
    3. Ensure the surface is clean, then remove the protective tape from the mounting plate and firmly place it on the surface. The adhesive is permanent and may damage the surface upon removal.
    4. Position Strips Drip so the moisture detection pads will catch any leaking water.

Alternative mounting: in certain locations, Strips Drip can be mounted using the screw holes in the mounting plate, or simply placed (with the mounting plate) without a fixed position.

    Battery Tips

    • To extend battery life, you can turn off temperature/light reporting (see configuration parameters below).
    • Save the included magnet — it's used to wake up, add, or remove Strips Drip. Most standard magnets will work as a replacement if lost.
    • If Strips Drip blinks 5 times, it failed to communicate with the controller. If this happens frequently, move the controller closer or add a Z-Wave repeater/extender between it and Strips Drip.

    User Commands (via Magnet)

    Command How To
Wake Up Move the magnet to the rounded edge; once the LED blinks, move the magnet away. Repeat 2 more times within 10 seconds. Success = 1 LED blink.
Add/Remove Set your controller to add/remove mode, then perform the Wake Up sequence above.
Reset Perform the Wake Up sequence, but on the 3rd repetition leave the magnet in place (20mm from the rounded edge) for 10 seconds. Use if your Z-Wave controller is missing or unresponsive.

Strips' default wake-up interval is 24 hours; this can be changed to between 30 minutes and 24 hours, but shorter intervals reduce battery life. Strips supports association group 1 (lifeline), max 1 node — normally used to report status to the controller.

    LED Light Signals

    Signal Meaning
1 short blink User command or alarm event — Strips is added to a network.
2 short blinks User command — Strips is NOT added to a network.
1 long blink Successful transmission of a user command.
5 short blinks Error — e.g. communication with the controller failed.

    Dimensions

The mounting plate/unit measures approximately 110mm — screw hole diameters of 3mm and 4mm are used for optional screw mounting (see the drilling template in the printed manual).
