Instruction manual for the Sensative Strips Drip — a Z-Wave multi-sensor water leak detector with temperature and light sensing, including full configuration parameters and LED signal reference.
Instruction manual for the Sensative Strips Drip (model 11 02 012/2) — a Z-Wave multi-sensor water leak detector with temperature and light sensing, compatible with any certified Z-Wave system.
Strips Drip is a water leak sensor that also reports temperature and ambient light. Its range is up to 40 meters, extendable by any non-battery Z-Wave device between Strips Drip and the controller (which acts as a repeater). It uses low-power (<2 dBm) radio signals at 868.42/869.85 MHz (EU) or 908.4/916.0 MHz (US/Canada).
Strips Drip ships in auto-add mode.
Note: Auto-add mode starts the first time the magnet is removed out of the box. If auto-add doesn't work, use the "Wake Up" command (below) instead.
Do not remove Strips Drip if a leak occurs — the sensor pads will dry naturally once the water is gone.
Alternative mounting: in certain locations, Strips Drip can be mounted using the screw holes in the mounting plate, or simply placed (with the mounting plate) without a fixed position.
| Command | How To |
|---|---|
| Wake Up | Move the magnet to the rounded edge; once the LED blinks, move the magnet away. Repeat 2 more times within 10 seconds. Success = 1 LED blink. |
| Add/Remove | Set your controller to add/remove mode, then perform the Wake Up sequence above. |
| Reset | Perform the Wake Up sequence, but on the 3rd repetition leave the magnet in place (20mm from the rounded edge) for 10 seconds. Use if your Z-Wave controller is missing or unresponsive. |
Strips' default wake-up interval is 24 hours; this can be changed to between 30 minutes and 24 hours, but shorter intervals reduce battery life. Strips supports association group 1 (lifeline), max 1 node — normally used to report status to the controller.
| Signal | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 1 short blink | User command or alarm event — Strips is added to a network. |
| 2 short blinks | User command — Strips is NOT added to a network. |
| 1 long blink | Successful transmission of a user command. |
| 5 short blinks | Error — e.g. communication with the controller failed. |
| # | Description | Values | Default |

| 10 | High ambient light report level | 3 - 64,000 | 40,000 |
| 11 | Low ambient light report level (must be well below #10) | 1 - 42,000 | 5,000 |
| 12 | Leakage alarm | 0: Off, 1: On | 1 |
| 13 | Leakage alarm level | 1-100 (1 = almost dry, 100 = wet) | 10 |

The mounting plate/unit measures approximately 110mm — screw hole diameters of 3mm and 4mm are used for optional screw mounting (see the drilling template in the printed manual).
