    Installation and reference manual for the SECO-LARM ST-2406-3AEQ ENFORCER Power Supply/Charger with Enclosure — a programmable 6/12/24VDC power supply and battery charger designed for alarm and access control system installations, with backup battery support and a heavy-duty steel enclosure.

    Overview

    The ST-2406-3AEQ ensures alarm and access control systems have reliable power. It's protected by fused battery outputs, input polarity protection diodes, and backup battery reverse-polarity protection. The enclosure has room for up to two backup batteries (leads included for one optional backup battery — up to two 4Ah batteries or one 7Ah battery fit inside).

    Overview / Layout

    The enclosure (cover removed) exposes: AC power input hole, wire relief clamp mounting screw, mounting holes, output voltage trimpot, voltage selector DIP switch, DC Output LED (red/blue), master fuse, AC Input LED (green), and backup battery outputs. Terminal blocks are labeled AC – DC + – BAT +. Knockouts for cable entry are located on the top, bottom, both sides, and back; ventilation holes are on both sides. A Class-II transformer connects to the VAC input terminals, and the alarm/access control panel connects to the VDC output terminals. Note: other mounting holes are provided for transformer mounting, and the bottom side includes two security lock holes.

    Installation

    1. Mount the power supply/charger enclosure in a location that will be easily accessible for future servicing.
    2. Set the desired DC output voltage (6, 12, or 24VDC) using the DIP switch settings below. Important: disconnect power before changing DIP switch settings. Default output is 12VDC.
    3. Connect a Class-II transformer with appropriate specifications (see transformer table below).
    4. Connect a sealed lead-acid or gel-type backup battery if desired.
    5. Connect the wires to their respective terminals. Use the supplied grommets to protect wires entering the enclosure, and secure the AC power wire with the wire relief clamp and flange nut.

    Installation Notes

    1. Before connecting any external devices, temporarily power up the unit and measure the DC output voltage at the device connection point to avoid damage to devices. If the voltage drop is large, adjust using the output voltage trimpot, then disconnect power before connecting external devices.
    2. See the LED status indicator table below.
    3. The unit ships with a 5A fuse — use only correct-rated fuses to prevent short-circuits and damage to the power supply or the connected panel.
    4. The automatic low-battery cutoff will cut power when battery voltage drops below 20% of the set output voltage.

    Warnings

    • Installation and servicing must be performed by qualified service personnel.
    • The power supply must be installed in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.
    • Do not use a higher AC input than recommended (rated max. 28VAC).
    • Disconnect the power supply before changing DIP switch settings or performing any type of service. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
    • Do not touch any exposed metal, electrical, or electronic parts — they may become very hot under load.
    • Keep power-limited wiring separate from non power-limited wiring (115VAC input, battery wires) — provide at least 1/4" (7mm) spacing.
    • Connect only to a rechargeable backup battery. Using a non-rechargeable battery could damage the power supply/charger or the alarm/access control panel.
