Complete installation manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER SD-9963-KSGQ Post-Mount Wave-to-Open Sensor with Access Box — a touchless IR exit sensor with manual override.
Installation manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER SD-9963-KSGQ Post-Mount Wave-to-Open Sensor with Access Box — a touchless IR exit sensor with a manual override button, designed for hospitals, clinics, labs, cleanrooms, schools, factories, and offices where reduced-contact egress is desired.
The ENFORCER Post-Mount Wave-to-Open Sensor with Access Box is a full-featured exit plate using IR technology to allow egress from a protected area, or activate a device, with just a wave of a hand. Because it's touchless, it reduces contamination risk — making it a good fit for locations where no special clearance is required for exit, or where a longer-range sensor might cause unwanted activation. A manual override button is included as a backup.
| Spec | Value |

| Current draw (standby green) | 14mA@12VDC / 18mA@24VDC |
| Current draw (triggered red) | 28mA@12VDC / 35mA@24VDC (all max ±10%) |
| Relay type | Form C dry contact (SPDT), 1.2A@24VDC |
| Response time | 10ms |
| LEDs | Standby: Red* | Triggered: Green* (*color function reversible) |
| Output duration | 0.5–30 sec or toggle |
| Range | 2"–7" (5–18 cm) |
| IP Rating | IP65 (front panel only) |
| Operating temperature | -4° to 131°F (-20° to 55°C) |
| Dimensions | 4" x 5½" x 3" (102 x 134 x 77 mm) |
| Weight | 1-lb 9-oz (710g) |
| UL Ratings | Destructive attack: Level I | Line security: Level I | Endurance: Level IV | Standby power: Level I |
Warning: Do not connect any device that will exceed 1.2A@24VDC.
The manual override button is factory prewired — no further wiring is necessary.
By default, red indicates standby and green indicates triggered. Move the LED control jumper to reverse this behavior (standby: green, trigger: red).
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Sensor triggers unexpectedly | Ensure no strong direct/reflected light source reaches the sensor; shelter the sensor from direct sunlight; check that nothing remains within the sensor's range, including a 60° cone from the centerline. |
| Sensor remains triggered | Reduce the IR range; ensure the output duration potentiometer is not turned to maximum; check that power voltage is within spec. |
| Sensor will not trigger | Increase the IR range; check that power voltage is within spec. |
For a weather-resistant installation, ensure the unit is installed in a waterproof back box and that the faceplate and screws are properly sealed — improper sealing may allow moisture intrusion, creating shock hazard and voiding the warranty. This SECO-LARM product carries a one-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal service, limited to repair or replacement at SECO-LARM's option. Installers/users are responsible for compliance with all applicable national, state, and local codes (including NEC ANSI/NFPA 70 or CSA C22.1).
