    Installation

    1. Mount the 7-Day Timer where the alpha-numeric display can be easily seen, and the keys can be pressed.
    2. Connect 12~24 VAC/VDC to the power input terminals marked (+) and (–).
    3. Remove the cover from the device and remove the paper battery protector from the backup battery (CR-2016, included). If not removed, the backup battery will fail to function during shipment protection.
    4. Connect the device to be controlled to the relay N.O. or N.C. and COM terminals. If connecting to a DC-powered electromagnetic or electric lock, connect a 1N4004 diode (not included) as close as possible to, and in parallel with, the lock — this absorbs electromagnetic interference that could damage the timer. A diode is not required for AC-powered locks.
    5. Ensure the connected device operates within the relay's specifications.

Egress Input (optional, switch not included): the timer's N.O. Egress input can be used with an optional N.O. switch which, when pressed, causes the relay to activate. Connect the switch between the N.O. Egress input and ground.

    Setting the Security Code

If the security code feature is enabled, a 4-digit code must be entered before performing any operations. Use UP/DOWN to input digits and ENTER/SET to move between digits. Entering an incorrect code returns to the main screen. The default code is 0000.

To enable/disable the code: press SET to enter code settings (enter existing code if enabled), use DOWN to enable or UP to disable, then ENTER; if enabling, enter the new code twice.

Security Code Reset: To reset the security code to factory default (0000), press and hold SET, ENTER, UP & DOWN keys for 3 seconds.

    Setting the Time

Press SET (enter security code if enabled) → use UP/DOWN until TIME setting is selected → press ENTER → use UP/DOWN to select day of week (SU MO TU WE TH FR SA) → ENTER to select hour → ENTER to select minute → ENTER to choose 12- or 24-hour format (default 24-hour) → ENTER to exit and return to main screen. The backup battery preserves clock time during a power failure.

    Entering Events

The timer stores up to 60 events. In Fixed mode, one event turns the relay ON and a separate event turns it OFF. In Pulsed mode, the relay activates for a set time and then automatically turns off (both ON and OFF show on the LCD).

Note 1: The timer only executes future events — e.g. a Monday 8:00 AM event programmed at 10:00 AM on Monday won't take effect until the following Monday. Note 2: Only one event can be scheduled per minute; duplicate day/hour/minute events won't save.

To create a new event: Press SET → use UP/DOWN to select PROGRAM mode → ENTER → use UP/DOWN to select the event number to edit → ENTER to enter edit mode → use UP/DOWN to set the event day (16 day combinations available) → ENTER to choose Fixed (F) or Pulsed (P) output → ENTER to set ON/OFF command (Fixed) or relay operate time (Pulsed) → ENTER to set event hour → ENTER to set event minutes → ENTER to confirm and move to the next event → press SET to exit.

Day-of-week combinations (16 total, shown on screen when selected) range from single days (e.g. Sunday only) up through every day, plus common groupings like weekdays (Mon–Fri) and weekends (Sat–Sun); combination #16 disables the event.

To disable an event: Press SET → UP/DOWN to PROGRAM mode → ENTER → UP/DOWN to select the event number → ENTER → UP/DOWN until no days appear → ENTER to confirm → SET to exit.

    Setting Holiday Mode

Holiday mode temporarily suspends all programmed events for up to 99 days. Each holiday period runs once and does not repeat; duration must be a multiple of 24 hours. The LCD shows the number of holiday days remaining once active. Holiday mode activates only once the start time is reached — e.g. if a 3-day holiday is set to begin Monday at 8:00AM but is programmed at 10:00AM Monday, suspension begins the following day (Tuesday) at 8:00AM and runs through Friday 7:59AM.

To schedule: Press SET → UP/DOWN to HOLIDAY mode → ENTER → UP/DOWN to select the holiday start day → ENTER → UP/DOWN to set holiday duration (24-hour increments) → ENTER to set start hour → ENTER to set start minutes → ENTER to exit and return to the main screen.

    Sample Applications / Wire Diagram

Gate control on a weekly schedule — gate remains open 7:00am–7:00pm Monday through Friday. If the gate auto-closes after opening: set the relay to Fixed mode, activating at 7:00am and deactivating at 7:00pm, Monday–Friday. If the gate opens/closes via dry contact closure: set the relay to Pulse mode, activating for 2 seconds at both 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday–Friday. A wireless remote (e.g. SK-919TD1S-UP) activates a wireless receiver (e.g. SK-910RBQ) connected to the SA-027WQ's egress input, allowing manual gate activation when the timer isn't in use.

Entry door unlock schedule — door unlocked during business hours. Relay set to Fixed mode, activating at 8:00am and deactivating at 5:00pm, Monday–Friday. A fail-safe electric door strike (e.g. SD-996C-NUQ) is wired between the N.C. and (–) terminals, with a 1N4004 diode (not included) connected as close as possible to, and in parallel with, the lock. A normally-open spring-loaded switch connected to the egress input allows egress while the door is locked.

    Changing the Battery

    1. Use one CR-2016 button cell battery.
    2. Unscrew the rear panel.
    3. Note the orientation of the button cell battery and remove it.
    4. Replace with one fresh CR-2016 cell in the same orientation.
    5. Replace the rear panel.

    Troubleshooting

Time frequently incorrect Ensure the timer has a reliable power source. Replace the backup battery.
Programmed event does not execute Ensure the relay is in Automatic Mode (see Overview section). Ensure the event is correctly programmed.
