    Complete user manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER® Gigabit PoE Extenders: NR-P101E-TQ (single-port) and NR-P401E-TQ (4-port).

    Overview

    These Gigabit PoE Extenders connect PoE cameras, IP access control, IP telephony, IP speakers/intercoms, or other PoE devices using a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, extending data and power range by an additional 328ft (100m). The NR-P401E-TQ supports up to 4 PoE devices. Both operate passively with no external power required.

    Installation

    1. Determine the mounting location between the PoE power source and the PoE camera, ensuring neither cable exceeds 328ft (100m).
    2. Mount the NR-P101E-TQ using 4 screws (not included) and the mounting tabs.
    3. For the NR-P401E-TQ, attach the two mounting brackets using the 4 included screws, then mount to the wall using the wall mounting screws (and plastic wall anchors if needed).
    4. Turn off power to the PoE power source and all PoE devices.
    5. Connect cables from the PoE power source to the extender's PoE In port.
    6. Connect cables from PoE cameras to the extender's PoE Out port.
    7. Turn on the PoE power source and wait up to one minute for devices to establish connections.
    8. Test to confirm all devices are working properly.

    Troubleshooting

    PoE device doesn't function properly:

    • Ensure all devices are turned on
    • Verify the PoE device functions when plugged directly into the PoE switch/computer
    • Double-check that cables are connected properly; run a continuity test on all wires
    • Ensure equipment at both ends is at the same link speed (10BASE-T with 10BASE-T, etc.)
    • Replace with a higher-grade cable for better performance
    • Confirm cable lengths are within the allowable range for the connected device's power consumption; reduce cable length as needed
    • With 1000BASE-T, power consumption is greater, so no more than 2 PoE extenders may be chained
    • Check that power consumption is within specifications
