    Installation manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER Pushbutton Request-to-Exit Plates — models SD-7202GC-PEQ, SD-7202GC-PTQ, SD-7223GW-LQ, and SD-7623-GSTQ.

    Overview

These illuminated "PUSH TO EXIT" request-to-exit plates mount in a standard single-gang back-box and provide a large, backlit pushbutton (LEDs rated for 50,000+ hours) that can be wired to release an electrically-controlled lock or alert an alarm/access control system. Message-plate language is easily swapped between English, Spanish, and French.

    Parts List

    • 1x Request-to-exit plate
    • 1x Installation manual
    • 1x Resistor for 24VDC (SD-7623-GSTQ only)
    • 2x Wallplate screws
    • 1x Spare LED bulb
    • 2x Replacement message plates (Spanish, French)
    • Colored leads: 5x (PEQ/GW-LQ) or 2x (PTQ/GSTQ)

    Changing the Message Plate

Do this before connecting any wires.

    1. Carefully twist the switch and bulb assembly counterclockwise about 20°, then pull it out of the black tube.
    2. Insert the blunt end of a small tool or rod (~3/8" / 10mm diameter, e.g. a screwdriver or pen) into the black tube. It slides in until it contacts the front lens/message plate assembly — push until the lens/plate assembly pops off. Be careful not to lose the spring.
    3. Remove the transparent green lens and insert the desired message plate.
    4. Check that the message plate orientation is correct.
    5. Snap the lens assembly back into place and replace the switch/bulb assembly.

    Wiring — SD-7202GC-PEQ and SD-7223GW-LQ

    1. Run four wires through the wall to a single-gang back-box: two wires from a 12VDC or 24VDC power source for the pushbutton light; one wire from the NO or NC terminal of an alarm/access-control device that can unlock an electrically-controlled lock; one wire from that device's COM terminal.
    2. Connect the included colored wires to the switch: one GREEN wire to each brass-colored spade connector (light power, polarity must be observed); GREEN/WHITE to the switch's N.C. connector (if needed); BLUE/WHITE to the switch's N.O. connector (if needed); WHITE to the switch's COM connector.
    3. Connect the colored wires to the alarm/access-control device and light power source: 2x GREEN to the 12/24VDC source (observe polarity); GREEN/WHITE to the device's N.C. terminal; BLUE/WHITE to the device's N.O. terminal; WHITE to the device's COM terminal.
    4. Screw the plate onto the back-box, taking care not to crimp the wires.
Important: Users and installers are responsible for ensuring the installation and configuration comply with all national, state, and local laws and codes related to locking and egress devices. SECO-LARM is not responsible for use of this product in violation of any laws or codes.

Wiring — SD-7202GC-PTQ (with Timer Module)

    1. Connect one GREEN wire to each brass-colored spade connector on the switch/bulb assembly, then to a 12 or 24VDC source (observe LED polarity).
    2. Connect 12 or 24VDC (non-polarized) to the timer module's power input terminals.
    3. Connect an N.O. or N.C. device (e.g. electromagnetic lock or alarm) to the relay output terminal block as desired (3A@24VDC max.).
    4. Connect a buzzer to the buzzer output terminal, if desired.
    5. Set the timer between 1–180 sec via the trimpot — turn clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to decrease. Test to confirm the timing is correct.

Wiring — SD-7623-GSTQ (with LED & Timer Module)

The additional status LED can toggle between off/on (red or green) or between red/green, indicating that the lock has entered a timed-unlock state, or that a monitored door is unlocked/open (returning to standby once closed/relocked).

    1. Follow the SD-7202GC-PTQ wiring instructions above.
    2. Choose the status LED behavior:
      • Off in standby, on when pressed: connect the red (or green) LED wire to the timer module's N.O. relay output; connect the LED's black wire to the timer module's negative (–) power input; the other colored wire is unused.
      • Normally on in standby, changes color when pressed: connect one colored LED wire to the N.O. relay output and the other colored wire to the N.C. relay output; connect the black wire to the negative (–) power input.
    3. Set the timer between 1–180 sec via the trimpot as above.

Important notes: When using a 24VDC power supply, the included resistor must be wired in-line with the status LED's black wire. Suggested wiring assumes a single power supply — the timer module's N.C. relay terminal must connect to the controlled device's positive (+) power input, and the COM terminal must connect to the power supply's positive (+) terminal.
