Complete physical installation guide for the Ring Video Doorbell Elite Kit, including the PoE Elite Power Kit, mounting bracket, and faceplate.

Step 1 — Connect the Ring Elite Power Kit

    • The Ring Elite Power Kit is a PoE (Power over Ethernet) injector that takes ethernet input and outputs power over ethernet to your Ring Elite.
    • Using the provided adapter, plug the Elite Power Kit into any wall outlet near your ethernet source.
    • Plug the 3-foot ethernet cable into the port labeled "Internet In" — this cable runs from your router or ethernet switch.
    • Plug the 50-foot cable into the port labeled "To Ring Elite" and run it to the doorbell location, through walls if necessary.

Step 2 — Install the Mounting Bracket (Optional)

    • If you don't have an existing junction box, install the included mounting bracket (which also serves as a junction box). If you already have a junction box, you can discard the bracket.
    • Trace the included mounting bracket template onto your wall, carefully cut the hole, then fit the bracket inside and tighten the two install screws — the wing clamps inside will secure the bracket to the wall.

Step 3 — Run the Ethernet Cable

    • Turn off power at the breaker before working near existing doorbell wiring.
    • Pull the ethernet cable through the wall hole (and existing doorbell wires too, if connecting to them).
    • Plug the ethernet cable into the port on the back of Ring Elite — you'll hear a click confirming it's secure, and the ring on the front will spin, indicating setup mode. If it doesn't, check the Elite Power Kit connections.
    • If connecting to existing doorbell wires: with power off at the main breaker, insert the doorbell wires into the small wire connectors next to the ethernet port (polarity doesn't matter) and tighten the two small screws with the included flathead screwdriver.
    • Restore power at the breaker.

Step 4 — Secure Ring Elite in the Bracket

Insert Ring Elite into the bracket by angling the top toward you and sliding it in. Press around the unit with both thumbs — some pressure may be needed for a tight fit. Tighten the top and bottom screws to secure it.

Step 5 — Set Up in the Ring App

Note: Complete setup in the Ring app before installing the faceplate. In the app, select "Set Up a Device" and follow the in-app instructions to connect Ring Elite to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 6 — Secure the Faceplate

After setup is complete, snap your desired faceplate over Ring Elite. Use the included flexible screwdriver to secure the faceplate by turning the security screw at the bottom of the unit.
