    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation guide for the Resideo L1 Wi-Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector (RWLD3001-001 / CHW3610W8001 / YCHW3000W3003) — a battery-powered, app-connected sensor that detects water leaks and freezing temperatures and alerts your phone via the Resideo app.

    What's in the Box

    • L1 Wi-Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector
    • Cable Sensor (extends detection area)
    • 2 x AA Alkaline Batteries

Tools needed: your home Wi-Fi password and a Phillips #2 screwdriver. You may also need the optional accessory cable sensor (WLD3CABLE, sold separately) to extend range.

    Setup

    1. Download the Resideo app to your mobile device and create an account (or sign in if you already have one).
    2. In the app, tap Add and select "L1 WiFi Water Leak and Freeze Detector" from the device list.
    3. Open the battery cover on the detector and install the 2 AA batteries. Wait a few seconds until the white LED shows solid, then press and hold the button for at least 5 seconds until the blue LED begins blinking (Bluetooth pairing mode).
    4. Follow the in-app instructions to complete Wi-Fi/Bluetooth setup.

Note: The device can be used for water sensing and the local siren even without app pairing.

    Placement and Sensing

    • Do not submerge the leak detector in water.
    • Wall mounting: the device can be mounted on a wall using the mounting keyhole, in combination with the optional cable sensor.
    • Floor placement: the device can sit directly on the floor and detect leaks via the on-device water-sensing contacts, plus the optional cable sensor.
    • Optional cable sensor: remove the plug at the bottom of the device and plug in the cable sensor. Accessory cable sensors (WLD3CABLE, sold separately) can be daisy-chained to extend detection up to 500 ft — the entire length of cable acts as a water sensor.
    • Important: the cable sensor jack is NOT for plugging in a power adaptor — doing so could damage the detector.

    When a Leak Is Detected

    • To silence alerts: press the leak detector's button, or tap the mute button in the app to mute the siren.
    • After addressing the cause of the alert, remove the detector and cable sensor from the water and wipe them dry. Replace the batteries if they were removed.

    Troubleshooting

    • Device not powering on: ensure batteries have sufficient charge and are inserted in the correct orientation. If fully depleted, replace with 2 new AA batteries.
    • Bluetooth pairing failed: if pairing fails at any stage, perform a factory reset.
    • Factory reset: press and hold the button for 15 seconds until the LED shows solid red and you hear two beeps (reset in progress). Once the LED turns off, the reset is complete.
