    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation instructions for the OnQ 2x16 Enhanced Video Module (P/N 364522-01) — a structured wiring module that manages and distributes RF (Cable TV) signals on coaxial cable throughout the house.

    Overview

The 2x16 Enhanced Video Module provides management and distribution of RF (Cable TV) signals on coaxial cable throughout the house. It has forward and reverse path amplification to provide unity gain throughout distribution, plus an auxiliary input for CCTV or modulated media center input, combined with the cable distribution. Mounts into any OnQ standard Service Center Enclosure.

    Description

    • "F" style fittings for all incoming/outgoing cables and power input, with LED indicator
    • 1 CATV input, 1 auxiliary input, 16 outputs
    • Includes power supply
    • Half-width module, occupies 9 vertical inches
    • Overall dimensions: 6.42" (W) x 9.00" (L) x 3.50" (H)

    Installation

    Mounting in Enclosure

    1. Align tabs on the module with slots on the enclosure rail
    2. Insert tabs by angling the module away from the back of the enclosure and sliding forward
    3. Rotate the module and insert fasteners into corresponding holes on the enclosure rail (plunger must be pulled out for the fastener to engage the hole)
    4. Push the plunger in to lock the module in place. Pull on the module to confirm it's locked properly.

Note: Recommended location for video modules is the upper left side, though modules may be mounted in any available space. Do not bend cable in less than about a 2-inch radius.

    Service Connection

    1. Identify incoming service cable(s) and route to the "Cable In" fitting(s) on the module, allowing slack for bundling cables to the side
    2. Attach a Series 6 "F" connector to the cable, connect to the module fitting, and finger tighten

    Auxiliary Input Connections

    1. Identify cables for auxiliary inputs and route to the appropriate fitting, allowing slack for bundling
    2. Attach a Series 6 "F" connector to the cable, connect to the module fitting, and finger tighten

    Outlet Drop Connections

    1. Identify cables from outlets and route to the appropriate fittings, allowing slack for bundling
    2. Attach a Series 6 "F" connector to the cable
    3. Remove terminator from the fitting and connect the cable to the module, finger tighten
    4. Place the terminator on the outlet after installation

Note: Cables should all be marked for identification. Record room locations for cables from outlets and auxiliary inputs.

    Power Connection

    1. Identify amplifier power cables and route to the appropriate fitting, allowing slack for bundling
    2. Attach a Series 6 "F" connector to the cable, connect to the module fitting, and finger tighten
    3. Attach a Series 6 "F" connector to the opposite end of the cable and connect it to the amplifier transformer provided with the module
    4. Plug the transformer into a standard 110 VAC outlet

    Warnings

    • Warning: Damaged cable from the transformer may be hazardous and should be replaced.
    • Caution: Do not connect power to any other device or fitting — connecting to other fittings may damage attached products.
    • Note: No field serviceable parts inside the module.
