Installation instructions for the On-Q/Legrand radiant™ LC2101 — a wireless master dimmer switch, 700W True Universal, for standard electrical boxes.

    Overview

The radiant™ LC2101 is a wireless master dimmer designed for standard electrical boxes. It works with incandescent, magnetic low-voltage (MLV), electronic low-voltage (ELV), CFL, and LED loads. If you're unsure of your electrical abilities, seek the assistance of a qualified electrician.

    Safety Warnings

    • Shock hazard: Always disconnect power at the service panel before beginning work.
    • Do not install to control a receptacle, fluorescent light/bulb, motor-operated appliance, or transformer-supplied appliance.
    • Do NOT use with incandescent lamps whose power requirements exceed the dimmer's maximum wattage.
    • This dimmer requires a minimum load of 50W.
    • Do NOT connect to a power source other than 120VAC, 60Hz.
    • Cut wires and strip insulation using the stripping guide on the back of the device. Use copper conductors only.
    • Do not pair different-size wires in the same terminal — use a wire nut with a 6" pigtail of matching gauge if needed.

    Installation Steps

    1. Label wires before disconnecting, then disconnect the old device.
    2. Multiple ganging and de-rating: for multi-gang installs, use pliers to break off the specified heat sink fins as shown on the device (remove all fins for 3-gang, inside fins only for 2-gang). De-rate the maximum load per the table below.
    3. Connect the new device: insert wires into terminals and tighten screws securely (to 10 in-lbs — do not over-tighten). For a single load: white wire to WHITE, black wire to HOT, red wire to LOAD.
    4. Carefully fold wires into the electrical box (or mud ring), and secure the device(s) into the box with the provided screws. If installing multiple devices in one box, wire all devices before installing them into the box.
    5. Install the wall plate — screwless plates snap into place over the back plate; screw-type plates screw directly over the device. To remove a wall plate later, insert a flat screwdriver into the back notches and twist gently.

Note: it is normal for the dimmer to feel warm during operation. Protect dimmers from dirt and dust.

    Wireless Setup

    Set House ID (New Installation)

    1. Ensure all devices' status LEDs are solid AMBER.
    2. Press and hold any dimmer/switch On button for 5 seconds, release — initiator LED flashes AMBER, other devices' LEDs flash GREEN.
    3. Press and hold the initiator On button for 5 seconds, release — all LEDs flash GREEN for 2 seconds, then turn solid WHITE.

Adding a Device to an Existing Installation

    1. Ensure new device's LED is solid AMBER (others should be solid WHITE).
    2. Press and hold any already-bound device's On button for 5 seconds, release — initiator flashes AMBER, new device flashes GREEN.
    3. Press and hold the initiator's On button for 5 seconds — both LEDs flash GREEN for 2 seconds, then turn solid WHITE.

    Groups (Wireless 3-Way/4-Way)

Creating a group, and adding/removing devices from a group, follows the same "press and hold for 5 seconds" pairing pattern used for house ID setup — all potential members must start with LEDs solid WHITE, then the initiator flashes AMBER while joining members flash GREEN, finishing with all LEDs solid WHITE.

    Operation

    Switch

Press and release to toggle On/Off. Status LED is on when the switch is off, and off when the switch is on.

    Dimmer

    • Press and release On button: from Off, ramps to last level (or Off from On) at a 2-second ramp rate.
    • Double-tap On button: full on at a 1-second ramp rate.
    • Press and hold Off button (2 sec) then release: from On, ramps off slowly (30 seconds for 100%). No action from Off.
    • Paddle (+): press/release increases 2% per tap from On (or ramps to last level from Off over 2 sec); double-tap jumps to full on in 1 second or +4%; press-and-hold ramps up over 5 seconds.
    • Paddle (-): press/release decreases 2% per tap; double-tap decreases 4%; press-and-hold ramps down over 5 seconds.

Fault Operation (Status LED blinking RED)

    • 1 blink/second = No load
    • 2 blinks/second = Over current
    • 3 blinks/second = Short circuit

    Factory Reset

Press and hold the On button for 20 seconds — status LED goes solid AMBER to confirm the reset.

    Custom Settings

Enter custom settings mode by pressing and holding any switch/dimmer's On button for 10 seconds. The LED blink count indicates which setting is selected; press and release to cycle settings, then use the paddle (for dimmers) to adjust. Exit by holding the initiator's On button for 2+ seconds, or wait for the 60-second timeout.

    Blinks Setting Default

    Compatible Loads

This dimmer works with any incandescent, electronic low voltage, or magnetic low voltage load, plus a wide range of compatible CFL and LED bulbs from Ecosmart, Feit, Bright Effects, GE, Philips, TCP, Sylvania, and Halco, and compatible fluorescent ballasts from Advance, Lutron, and Sylvania/Osram, as well as magnetic low voltage transformers from Juno, Edge Lighting, Encompass Lighting Group, LED Inspiration, Magnitude, Bruck, and WAC Lighting. Always use the minimum number of transformers that will provide the necessary output power.
