    Product brochure for the OEM Systems SW-4SPKR and SW-8SPKR Impedance Compensating Speaker Selectors. These allow multiple pairs of 8 Ohm speakers to be connected to a single stereo amplifier or receiver without damaging the amplifier, and also function as "switching stations" for controlling all speakers in a multi-room system from a central location.

    Overview

    • SW-4SPKR supports up to 4 pairs of speakers; SW-8SPKR supports up to 8 pairs.
    • Any combination of speaker pairs can play simultaneously with amplifier protection engaged.
    • Individual ON/OFF push-buttons for each pair of speakers.
    • For per-pair volume control, use heavy-duty "Autoformer" type volume controls (one per speaker pair), wired in-line between the switcher and each speaker pair.

    Wiring

    • Wiring from the amplifier to the switcher should be a minimum of 16 gauge.
    • If wire is run through walls, it should be "CL" rated.
    • For runs over 100 feet, 14 gauge wire may be used.
