Installation manual for the NuVo NV-BK6C and NV-BK8C Rough-in Brackets, used to pre-mark speaker cutouts for NuVo AccentPlus in-ceiling speakers before drywall installation.

Overview

The NuVo Rough-in Brackets provide an accurate cutout template for NuVo AccentPlus speakers, installed between ceiling joists or wall studs before drywall goes up. Each bracket assembles quickly from a center piece and two wings.

Installation Steps

1. Assemble the bracket. Remove the bracket and wings from the shipping box, then attach the wings to the center bracket piece.
2. Plan speaker placement. Decide on optimal speaker placement within the room, leaving sufficient distance between speakers for good stereo separation. Consider the best listening area. NV-AP16C and NV-AP18C speakers are ceiling-mounted, so placement centered over the living space matters.
3. Mount the bracket. Locate the bracket assembly between ceiling joists or wall studs and secure it with staples, nails, or wood screws. Orient the inner lip extending from the center of the bracket toward the living space and away from the ceiling joists.
4. Manage the speaker wire. Once the bracket is installed, use the included wire tie to hold the speaker wire in place until the speaker itself is installed. The AccentPlus speakers have built-in dog-ears that hold the speaker in place, so no additional brackets or hardware are needed for the final speaker mount.
