    Installer guide for the Nexia One Touch (model NX1000), a Z-Wave button remote that conveniently runs up to 15 modes and automations at the tap of a button.

    Installation

    Install Batteries

    1. Unsnap the back plate from the One Touch.
    2. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries.
    3. Snap the back plate back onto the One Touch.

    Z-Wave Inclusion (Adding to a Z-Wave Network)

    1. Press "Add Device" in your Nexia portal or mobile app and follow the on-screen instructions.
    2. When the 4-minute on-screen timer begins, start inclusion at the One Touch: press any button to wake it, then press and hold the middle Page button until the setup menu appears, then press the Z-Wave button, then Include.
    3. Success is confirmed when "NID" is non-zero and "SUCCESS" flashes on screen.

    Z-Wave Exclusion (Removing from a Z-Wave Network)

    1. Set your home's Z-Wave bridge to Exclude Mode.
    2. Press any button to wake the One Touch.
    3. Press and hold the middle Page button until the setup menu displays.
    4. Press the Z-Wave button, then Exclude.
    5. "Exclude" will flash until exclusion completes, then "SUCCESS" briefly displays.
    6. Verify on your bridge that the One Touch was successfully excluded.

    Physical Installation

    Wall Mount (optional): Unsnap the back plate, secure it to the wall using two flathead screws, then snap the One Touch onto the back plate. Alternatively, use it as a handheld remote placed on a coffee table or nightstand.

    Customizing One Touch Buttons

    1. Open the Nexia portal or mobile app and locate the icon for your One Touch.
    2. Assign new names to One Touch buttons, and assign modes/automations to buttons.
    3. Configure display options such as display brightness and backlight timer.

    Note: press any Page button for changes to take effect immediately. Otherwise, One Touch wakes every 6 hours to check for updates.

    Using the One Touch

    1. Press any button to wake the One Touch (backlight illuminates).
    2. Press the desired Control button. If a Mode is assigned, it becomes active; if an Automation is assigned, all automation actions run.

    Setup Menu

    Press any button to wake the device, then press and hold the middle Page button until the setup menu appears. Menu sections:

    • Z-Wave Menu: Shows Network ID (NID = 00 if not included, 2–231 if included) and allows starting Inclusion or Exclusion.
    • Screen Menu: Contrast (1–10), Backlight Level (1–10), Timeout (0–240 min), Timeout Page (default page after timeout).
    • Buttons: Touch Cal / button sensitivity (1–10), LED Level / blue button lights (1–10), Backlight Timeout (10–15 sec), Button Timeout (5–15 sec).
    • System: Displays Model Number, Firmware version, Battery percentage; Factory Reset option (clears all settings and associations — last resort only, device won't work with Nexia until re-included).
