    September 08, 2026 3 min read

User manual for the MyTelcare Diabetes Pal smartphone app, which logs glucose readings, medication, meals, and notes, and syncs automatically with the Telcare BGM™.

    Full text manual (for reference)

User manual for the MyTelcare Diabetes Pal smartphone app — companion software that logs blood glucose readings, medication doses, meals, and notes, with automatic syncing when paired with a Telcare BGM™ blood glucose meter.

    Overview

MyTelcare Diabetes Pal helps users manage diabetes by tracking glucose readings, medication, food, and personal notes in one place. When combined with the Telcare BGM™, the app automatically pulls in every glucose reading from the meter — no manual entry required. The app is organized into two home-screen pages: a primary set of daily-use tools (Today, Add Log, Statistics, Messages, Forum, Logs, Mail Report, Profile, About) and a secondary settings/social page (Settings, Facebook, Twitter, Feedback, Telcare BGM™, Support).

    Getting Started

    • Sign up: New users tap "Sign up," enter their information, and tap "Submit" to create an account and land on the home screen.
    • Log in: Existing users tap "Log in," enter their username/email and password, then tap "Submit."

    Today Screen

Shows the current 24-hour status at a glance:

    • Number of tests completed vs. the daily goal set during sign-up
    • Today's readings plotted on a graph (mg/dL over hour of day)
    • Last three readings
    • Pull down to refresh

    Add Log

Log entries can be added for glucose, medicine, food, or a note — all simultaneously — and tagged by event. The log time can be changed via the calendar control at the bottom, and entries are saved with the "Save" button in the top right.

    • Glucose log: Enter the reading value using the keypad. The "Last Log" button shows the most recent BG reading and links to the Logs screen.
    • Medicine log: Select the Medicine tab, enter units via keypad. To add a new medicine type: tap "Change Medicine," select or "Add New" (enter name and unit), tap "Save," then choose the medicine from the list and tap "Back."
    • Food log: Select the Food tab, enter grams of carbohydrates. To add a new food type: tap "Change Food," select or "Add New" (enter food name), "Save," then select from the list and tap "Back."
    • Notes: Attach a note using the note tab and keyboard.

    Statistics

Graphical representations of glucose readings, viewable full-screen by tapping. A "+" button adds a new log directly from this screen; pull down to refresh.

    • Timeframe: Select via tabs across the top, ranging from "Today" to "All" readings.
    • Hourly Average: Average reading value by hour of the day.
    • Pie Chart: Breakdown of readings by low/normal/high/very high, plus lowest, highest, and average BG for the selected timeframe.
    • Tag Averages: Average blood glucose grouped by event tag.

    Messages

Personalized messages are sent automatically to Telcare BGM™-linked users based on reading trends or detected anomalies. A switch toggles between viewing all messages or only high-priority ones. Requires a linked Telcare BGM™ to receive these messages.

    Forum

Community area for reading other users' posts or posting your own questions and responses.

    Logs

Displays all logs chronologically, filterable by type (Glucose, Medication, Food) via toggle buttons. Logs are color-coded by target zone — green for within target, red for far above target (edit target ranges at mytelcare.com under Clinical Profile). New logs can be added with the "+" button. Logs obtained directly from the Telcare BGM™ cannot be edited or deleted (clinical data) but a note can be added. Pull down and refresh to see color coding.

    Mail Report

Generate a PDF report from the home screen for a selected period (7, 30, or 90 days). An email with the PDF attached is generated to a recipient you specify, sent from the device's registered email address. Reports include average blood glucose levels, range, standard deviation, and graphs.

    Profile

View and edit personal information; tap a field, make changes, and tap "Save." The number of devices registered to the account is shown at the bottom. Profile data is used only for non-personally-identifiable social features and is not shared externally.
