LogicMark CaretakerSentry (Model 40911) — Quick Install Guide

Overview

The LogicMark CaretakerSentry (Model #40911) is a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) consisting of a base unit (Model 40914) and a wearable pendant (Model 40915, available with lanyard or wrist strap). The pendant's emergency button connects you to a central monitoring station or emergency contacts through your telephone line.

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Confirm accessories in kit — 4 rechargeable AA batteries, telephone cord, AC adapter, lanyard, wrist strap.
2. Place batteries in unit — Place the green rechargeable batteries in the compartment on the bottom of the base unit, noting the correct orientation. Make sure to turn the ON/OFF switch to ON. You will hear the announcement "Running on Battery Power" — the unit runs on battery until the AC adapter is plugged in.
3. Plug telephone line and power cord into wall jacks — Plug the AC adapter power cord into the power jack and twist a quarter turn clockwise to lock. Optionally plug a telephone into the "To House Phone" jack.
4. Test the unit — see the System Test procedure below.

Performing a System Test

1. Push and hold the CANCEL button for 8-10 seconds to enter "System Check."
2. Push the gray Emergency button for 2 seconds on the Pendant (the red LED on the pendant should turn ON for 1 second).
3. Listen for the voice prompt from the base unit: "All Systems are OK – Battery is OK" is heard if the system is correctly installed. Any other voice prompt describes the specific problem.
4. Push and release the CANCEL button for 1 second to exit Test Mode (the unit will automatically exit after 3 minutes if not cancelled).
5. We recommend performing this System Test weekly.

Placing an Emergency Call

1. Push the gray Emergency button for 2 seconds on the Pendant (the red LED on the pendant should turn ON for 1 second).
2. You should hear a dial tone, dialing, and then communication tones between the CaretakerSentry and the central station. Several seconds later, the operator should answer the call.
3. Talk normally to the base unit, just like a speakerphone.
4. At the end of the conversation, the unit should automatically hang up — if not, push the CANCEL button for 1 second.
