    Operating manual for the Leviton Level 2 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Charging Station — a wall-mounted 240V charging station for electric vehicles equipped with an SAE J1772™ compliant charge port.

    Important Safety Instructions

    • Do not use the EVSE Charging Station with a damaged AC outlet.
    • Do not use an extension cord to provide power to the EVSE Charging Station.
    • Do not operate the EVSE Charging Station with a visibly damaged AC supply plug or charge cord/connector — inspect equipment before each use, and contact Customer Support if damage is detected.
    • Not for use in commercial garages, as defined as a facility used for the repair of internal combustion engine vehicles where the area may be classified due to vapors of flammable liquids (gasoline).
    • Connect only to a circuit with 30 amperes maximum branch circuit over-current protection, per the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70).
    • Must be mounted such that the height of the storage means for the coupling device is located between 24 inches (600mm) and 4 feet (1.2m) from grade.
    • Ensure the charge cord is positioned so it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage or stress. Always stow the unit in a safe place after each use.
    • Use only with electric vehicles equipped with an SAE J1772™ compliant charge port.
    • Do not attempt to repair or service the unit yourself — refer to Troubleshooting or Customer Support.

    Overview & Status Indicator

    The EVSE Charging Station includes a NEMA 6-30 AC power plug, a J1772™ charge connector with release button, and a status indicator panel with three LEDs (Power/green, Charging/yellow, Fault/red).

    Mounting the EVSE Charging Station

    Included parts: Mounting bracket, mounting hook (factory installed), No. 7 screws (4) for mounting bracket. Tools needed: Drill (for pilot holes, if required), Phillips screwdriver.

    Mounting location: Should be located close to the vehicle's parking location, positioned so the AC power plug can be properly inserted into a NEMA 6-30 outlet. The path from the station to the vehicle should be free from obstacles and within range of the charge connector cord (18 ft. standard length). Must be mounted at a height so the bottom of the unit is between 24–48 in. from grade per NEC Article 625.

    1. Mount bracket to wall using appropriate screws/wall anchors for your installation location.
    2. Note the location of the hook on the back of the EVSE Charging Station.
    3. Slide the EVSE Charging Station onto the mounting bracket until the hook snaps into place.
    4. To remove: push the latch on the mounting bracket and move the EVSE Charging Station upward.

    A suitable hook (not supplied) is recommended to secure the charge connector cord if the station remains mounted when not in use.

    Charging an Electric Vehicle

    1. Connect the AC power plug to a 240V/30A dedicated electrical outlet. The Power indicator LED illuminates green when properly connected, indicating the station is ready for charging.
    2. Park the vehicle close enough to the station so the charge connector reaches the vehicle's charge port without stress on the cord. Position the cord so it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage. Plug the charge connector into the vehicle's charge port. Charging starts automatically when a proper connection is made.
    3. To stop charging, disconnect the charge connector from the electric vehicle.

    Additional Information

    Auto Restart: When a charging session is interrupted due to a temporary error condition, the station automatically resets and restarts charging once the error condition returns to normal. The Fault LED remains flashing red until resolved.

    Temporary error conditions include: Over Current, Over Voltage, Under Voltage, Over Temperature. For an Over Current condition, two automatic retries are allowed per charging session. When interrupted by a Charge Circuit Interrupting Device (CCID) trip, the station retries after 10 minutes.

    Troubleshooting

    Situation Action
    Power indicator LED does not illuminate Ensure the AC power plug is connected correctly and within operating range. If the problem persists, contact Customer Support.
    Charging indicator LED does not illuminate Ensure the charging connector is inserted firmly; unplug and replug to confirm insertion. If it doesn't illuminate after 10 seconds, power cycle by unplugging and replugging the AC power plug. Contact Customer Support if the issue persists.
    Fault indicator LED starts flashing red while charging There is a temporary error. Wait ~15 minutes for it to resolve. If the power LED doesn't return to green, power cycle by unplugging and replugging. Contact Customer Support if the issue persists.
    Fault indicator LED is solid red There is a critical error. Unplug the charging connector from the EV charging port, then power cycle the AC power plug. Contact Customer Support if the issue persists.
