Leviton/HAI 42A00-2 Supervised Wireless Receiver — Installation Instructions

Installation instructions for the Leviton/HAI Model 42A00-2 Supervised Wireless Receiver — allows up to 64 unique wireless security transmitters to report to an OmniLT, Omni, Omni II, Omni IIe, OmniPro, OmniPro II, Lumina, or Lumina Pro controller.

Description

The Model 42A00-2 Supervised Wireless Receiver allows up to 64 unique wireless security transmitters to report information to an HAI controller. The wireless transmitters replace wired door and window sensors, as well as wired smoke, motion, and glassbreak detectors. The receiver features spatial diversity, which minimizes wireless signal nulls or dead spots, and may be mounted up to 1000 feet from the HAI controller.

Compatible Transmitters

Compatible with all 319.5 MHz GE Security (a.k.a. ITI or Interlogix) and Caddx (crystal or SAW) Learn Mode™ 63-bit wireless transmitters. Not compatible with 80-bit wireless transmitters.

Specifications

Note: This product cannot be sold in the state of California if used to receive fire signals (per section 208-g, Chapter 1.5, Title 19, California Code of Regulations).

Installation

1. Install the receiver in a central area of the premises, as high above ground as practical (allow at least 9" clearance above the receiver to mount the antennas).
2. The receiver should be at least 5 feet from the controller or any other electronic device.
3. Avoid areas exposed to moisture, or with excessive metal or electrical wiring — if unavoidable, mount where antennas extend above the metallic surface.
4. Remove the cover by inserting a screwdriver into the slot on the bottom edge, push gently to release the latch, and lift the cover from the base.
5. Remove the wireless receiver circuit board from the base by gently prying down the bottom latch while sliding the board from under the two top latches.
6. Hold the base against the mounting surface and mark the two mounting holes (allow 9" clearance for antennas).
7. Drill a hole at each marking and install the supplied wall anchors, then mount the base with the supplied screws.
8. Insert the antennas into the supplied antenna shrouds.
9. Slide the top of the circuit board under the two top latches, then snap it in at the bottom latch to secure.

Connecting to the Controller

Connect the receiver using 4-conductor, 22-gauge or larger wire. Terminal mapping depends on the controller model:

• Omni / OmniPro: "A" & "B" terminals to controller "A" & "B"; "+12" & "GND" to controller "12V" & "GND".
• OmniLT: "A" & "B" terminals to "YEL" (Yellow) & "GRN" (Green); "+12" & "GND" to "RED" & "BLK" under the CONSOLE section.
• Omni II / Omni IIe / OmniPro II / Lumina / Lumina Pro: Same "A"/"B" and "+12"/"GND" mapping as Omni/OmniPro.

Verify the Status LED on the receiver is illuminated after connecting.

Setup Mode & Programming

Press and hold the Mode/Advance switch for ~2 seconds to enter Setup Mode. Use the Set switch to increment values, and the Mode/Advance switch to advance to the next item or confirm/save. Setup Mode configures:

1. Receiver Address — depends on the number of expansion enclosures (OmniPro/OmniPro II/Lumina Pro) or fixed at "A1" for Omni/OmniLT/Omni II/Omni IIe/Lumina.
2. Number of Addresses ("n") — sets how many groups of 16 zones the receiver covers.
3. Transmitter Setup — press and hold Mode/Advance for 2 seconds, then trip each transmitter in sequence (1–64) to program its address location. The receiver auto-detects supervisory and restore characteristics based on transmitter type; adjust with the Set switch as needed.

Controller-Specific Zone Mapping (summary)

• Omni: Zones 17–32 are the wireless receiver zones (address A1, n1). Supports up to 4 transmitters per zone.
• OmniLT: Zones 9–24 are the wireless receiver zones (address A1, n1). Supports up to 4 transmitters per zone.
• Omni II / Omni IIe / Lumina: Zones 33–48 are the wireless receiver zones (address A1, n1). Supports up to 4 transmitters per zone.
• OmniPro / OmniPro II / Lumina Pro: Wireless zones start at Zone 33 (OmniPro) or Zone 49 (OmniPro II/Lumina Pro) with no expansion enclosures, and shift by 16 zones per 17A00-1 expansion enclosure added (address increments A1→A8 accordingly). OmniPro II/Lumina Pro support two 42A00-2 receivers (first addressed A1–A4, second A5–A8).

Resetting or Removing a Transmitter

Enter Setup Mode and navigate to the transmitter's address location. Press the SET button until no dots remain on either side of the address number to remove it. To replace, simply trip the new transmitter. To erase all transmitters and reset to factory defaults, press and hold both the Set and Mode/Advance switches simultaneously for 2 seconds — the display will show "EE"; repeat to confirm the reset.

LED Display Reference

If the receiver is not communicating with the controller, the Mode LED blinks four times per second (vs. once per second normally).

Leviton warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for the following periods, whichever is shorter: OmniPro II and Lumina Pro — 3 years from installation or 42 months from manufacture. OmniLT, Omni IIe, and Lumina — 2 years from installation or 30 months from manufacture. Thermostats/Accessories — 2 years from installation or 30 months from manufacture. Rechargeable batteries — 90 days from purchase (primary/non-rechargeable batteries are not warranted). Leviton's obligation is limited to repair or replacement at Leviton's option; labor costs for removal/reinstallation are not covered.
