Getting Started Guide for the Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug-In Switch (Cat. No. D215O) — easy Wi-Fi lighting control for outdoor string lights, holiday lights, landscape lighting, fountain pumps, and other outdoor electronics.

Overview

The Decora Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug-In Switch makes it easy to add smart control to outdoor lighting and small appliances. With a 15A rating and support for motor loads up to 3/4 HP, it can control holiday decorations, inflatables, fountain pumps, outdoor fans, aquarium pumps, and small appliances. Use the My Leviton app to create a schedule, set run time, select sunrise/sunset options, or enable the built-in light sensor. Pairs with a wireless Anywhere Companion Switch for convenient wall-mount control. Works with Matter, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home/Siri, and more.

Installation

WARNING: Electric shock hazard. May result in serious injury or death. When used outdoors, this device must be plugged into a GFCI protected circuit.

1. Confirm a strong Wi-Fi signal is available in the area where you're installing the Outdoor Plug-In Switch.
2. Insert the Outdoor Plug-In Switch into a 120VAC outlet.
3. When the device first powers ON, the Status LED flashes green to show it's ready for setup.
4. Press to turn ON/OFF.

Notes: Make sure the outlet is at least 3 in. above the ground when plugged in, to avoid it being submerged in water. Do not use in a switched outlet. The light sensor was designed for outdoor use — for best performance, position it so it points away from connected lights and shaded areas, with a clear view of natural ambient light.

Device Setup / Connectivity

• Connect to the My Leviton cloud, to a Matter controller/hub, or to both
• Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri, and Samsung SmartThings can all be set up via My Leviton or directly via Matter
• Download the My Leviton app at my.leviton.com and add the device via the "+" icon

Anywhere Companion Pairing (Optional)

1. Place the Anywhere Companion in Pairing mode by pressing the top rocker 5 times (its Status LED blinks GREEN).
2. Place the primary Outdoor Plug-In Switch into Pairing mode by pressing the Control Button 5 times (Status LED flashes GREEN/AMBER).
3. The switch automatically pairs to the Companion in wireless RF range; Status LED quickly flashes GREEN to confirm connection.

Status LED Diagnostic Codes

Factory Default Reset

1. Hold the control button for 14 seconds.
2. After the first 7 seconds, the status LED turns Amber. Continue to hold.
3. After 7 more seconds, the LED quickly flashes Red and Amber.
4. Release the control button and the device resets.

Troubleshooting

• Not performing as expected: confirm the plug-in is supplied from a non-switched 120VAC, 60Hz source only, and the connected load is working (local switch ON) and within rated limits.
• Not connected to Wi-Fi: confirm the switch is within range of an available Wi-Fi access point; check "Device Health" in the My Leviton app for signal strength; move closer to an access point if weak; make sure the device is not installed inside a metal enclosure.

WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, do not use for controlling high power heating appliances such as portable heaters — unexpected consequences can result if not used with care. Not rated to control electronic low-voltage/high-frequency power supply transformers, nor high pressure discharge lamps (HID lighting), including mercury-vapor, sodium vapor, and metal halide lamps. Must be installed and used in accordance with electrical codes and regulations. Unplug the unit when servicing loads.
