Product data and installation instructions for the Leviton Architectural Edition® Powered by JBL® LAE6C-000 In-Ceiling Loudspeaker with 6-1/2" Woofer — a nearly invisible, paintable in-ceiling speaker engineered with JBL waveguide technology.

Application

Leviton Architectural Edition powered by JBL speakers were engineered for full sound dispersion to fill the room, whether installed in home theater systems or whole-house audio applications. With proven acoustic superiority and sound inspired by JBL's M2 Master Reference Monitor, JBL's High Definition waveguide technology allows the loudspeaker to fill the room in cinema-quality, full-immersion sound from any location — even high elevations or off-axis listening locations.

Specially designed with a nearly invisible zero-bezel and paintable magnetic grille, the speaker blends into any wall or ceiling architecture. The speaker's sturdy, reliable design includes an XL-2 bracket suitable for mounting in any wall or ceiling up to 2" thick.

Installation Instructions

Caution: These instructions assume the installer possesses skill in the proper use of hand and power tools, and is familiar with the environment behind the surface of the wall or ceiling where speakers will be installed.

1. Select speaker mounting location. Route speaker cable from source to this location. Leviton recommends 16/2 (minimum) class 3 speaker wire.
2. Attach wings to the back plate of the Pre-Construction Bracket. Only two wings are required per back plate — select the mounting arrangement that best suits your application. Wings are designed to be shortened as required.
3. Attach the Pre-Construction Bracket in the desired location to the underside of framing members so that, after drywall installation, the bracket and wings are sandwiched between the drywall and the framing member (ensure "FRONT" faces into the room). If the mounting area is too congested to use both mounting wings, drive screws through the back plate directly into the framing member.
4. Loop the speaker wire and attach it to the wire management loops on the back of the bracket.
5. After drywall installation, install speakers in the holes provided by the drywall installer, following instructions included in the speaker packaging.
