Installation instructions for the Leviton 1x16 Premium CATV Module (Cat. No. 47693-16P) — a bi-directional CATV signal distribution module for Structured Media Centers, distributing incoming video service to 16 outputs.

    Description

Leviton's CATV Premium modules are designed to provide bi-directional distribution of CATV signals throughout the home on coaxial cable. The 1x16 CATV Premium module provides distribution of incoming video service (Cable TV, Antenna, or other modulated sources) to 16 outputs.

    Installation

To install the module, align the Push-Lock Pins with the grid holes in the back of the Structured Media Center (SMC). The module can be mounted either horizontally or vertically in the SMC. With the Push-Lock Pin plungers in the "out" position, place the amplifier into the rear hole grid, and press all the plungers in.

The Premium CATV modules are equipped with a tiltable bracket to facilitate ease of wiring. Rotate the module in the bracket into the tilt position — the notches in the bracket hold the module in the tilted position during cabling. After cabling, lift the module out of the notches and rotate back to the 90° position.

    Wiring

    1. Route cable from antenna or cable service to the CATV/ANT port on the module.
    2. Identify the coax cable providing service to wall outlets and route it to the eight (of sixteen) numbered ports as needed.
    3. The 1x16 Premium CATV module is equipped with a Cable Modem Bypass port. If a cable modem is in use, connect it to this port only.

Note: The bend radius for RG6 Quad-shield cable (recommended) should be no less than two inches. Label cables for identification purposes.

Note: To prevent Radio Frequency Interference, use the supplied termination caps on unused ports.

    Powering the Unit

Power is provided by the included transformer, plugged into an appropriate 110VAC source. The unit may also be powered using the Leviton Universal Power Supply or DC Power Module. Pin requirement for connection to the power supply is a 2.1mm center-positive pin-type fitting.
