Legrand RFLC Event Controller (LC6001) — Installation & Configuration Instructions

Installation and configuration instructions for the Legrand RFLC Event Controller (LC6001 — also branded LC640x) — a networked controller that manages an installed RFLC Lighting Control subsystem via Ethernet or WiFi-connected devices.

Overview

The RFLC Event Controller lets a user Discover and Locate up to 100 RFLC Zones once RFLC lighting products are installed and configured. From there, users can build up to 10 Collections of Zones, up to 10 lighting Scenes (up to 32 zones per scene), and up to 20 Events (each combining up to 2 Scenes), with automated date/time-based lighting control. Control of any Zone, Collection, or Scene can be initiated from any Ethernet- or WiFi-connected device (PC or smartphone) via the online Owner's Manual-documented interface.

Installation Steps

1. Prerequisite: all other RFLC Lighting Products must already be installed and configured before installing the Event Controller.
2. Connect a Cat 5 cable from the RJ45 jack on the rear panel to a router port that provides DHCP addressing.
3. Connect the AC-DC adapter to the micro-USB jack on the rear panel.
4. Once connected to an active DHCP LAN, the display shows "Legrand RFLC Acquiring IP Address," then lists the acquired IP, then transitions to showing current date/time (accurate only if connected to an active WAN, updating the on-board real-time clock). Date/time can also be set manually via the device's browser-based Setup Screens.
5. The Power/Status LED is solid red until an IP address is acquired, then changes to amber (factory status, not yet part of any RFLC subsystem). Placing an installed, configured RFLC device within 100' range into "Learn Mode" causes the LED to blink green as the Event Controller binds to the existing lighting subsystem; once the initiating device exits Learn Mode, the LED turns solid green.

Factory reset: press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds, or until the status LED turns solid amber.

Display Modes

Toggle the Mode push-button to cycle through: IP Address, Date & Time, MAC Address, and Firmware Revision. Press and hold Mode for 2–3 seconds (until the LED blinks amber) to trigger an RF Scan that locates all controllable devices — this can take several minutes on larger systems. An RF Scan option is also available from the browser-based Setup Application.

Configuration via Browser Setup Application

1. Access the Setup Application by entering the IP address shown on the front panel display. Choose "System," "Zones," "Collections," "Scenes," or "Events" to customize.
2. Under "System," use "Adjust Time Settings" to change day/time, daylight savings behavior, zip code (default 17057), and time zone (default Eastern).
3. Under "Zones" (after an RF Scan), each discovered load is given a four-digit number. Click the target icon next to a number to flash that load 10 times for identification, then overwrite the number with a descriptive name. Click "Save Settings" when done.
4. Under "Collections," create up to 10 groups of named loads (e.g. "Outside Lights") by checking boxes for items to include, so the group can be controlled together.
5. Under "Scenes," create up to 10 named scenes (e.g. "Dinner" or "Movie"), selecting which loads participate and what light level each should be set to. Scenes must be created before they can be assigned to an Event.
6. Under "Events," create up to 20 scheduled events (each containing up to 2 Scenes) that fire on a specific day/time, optionally relative to sunrise/sunset (e.g. "10 minutes before sunset"), with configurable repeat frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
