    Product brochure for the Intrasonic Technology RETRO Music Distribution and Intercom System — a modern retrofit solution designed to update pre-existing in-wall home intercom systems using the existing 3, 4, or 6 wire wiring for a quick, easy upgrade to multi-source music distribution and room-to-room communication.

    Overview

    Intrasonic Technology (IST) designs music distribution and intercom systems that enrich the residential media experience by broadcasting music to any room in the home — from iPods and other MP3 players, CD players, computers, or AM/FM/satellite radio — while also enabling room-to-room conversations. IST products are designed to be full-featured yet easy to use, and are priced to fit a range of budgets. Wall-mounted units are available in a variety of styles and colors to seamlessly integrate into existing home décor. The systems can also be integrated with home security technology.

    The RETRO system is designed specifically as an attractive alternative for homeowners with outdated, single-function antique intercoms who don't want to face costly wall patches and repairs. It updates pre-existing in-wall intercom systems for a quick, easy transformation to a state-of-the-art multi-source music distribution system.

    Music Distribution Features

    • Choice of 2 music source options in every room, enabling different music sources to be played in different rooms
    • Built-in AM/FM radio with 10 preset options
    • Portable Music Player (PMP) Bay to plug-and-play a wide variety of MP3 devices such as iPods, Zunes, or hand-held satellite radios — either from downloaded or streamed music
    • USB or Firewire connection to charge MP3 devices as they play
    • Suspension of music broadcast when an intercom call is made, automatically resuming to all stations other than those engaged in the call once the call is answered

    Intercom Communication Features

    • Automatic Selective Call technology that broadcasts voice calls throughout the home, but only broadcasts between the initial call station and the responding station once the call is answered
    • Hands-free communication for the party receiving the call
    • Capability to audibly monitor single or multiple zones
    • Privacy function that disables another station from listening to or monitoring the room
    • Hands-free operation at Master Station with IREMOTE control (available as an option)
    • 13 zone capacity to cover every major room in the home

    Flexible Installation Options

    • Room adaptor and trim plates that allow installation of new stations into existing intercom wall openings without requiring drywall repair, even if the fit is not exact
    • Wall units that can be painted to seamlessly integrate into walls
    • Connection to ceiling or in-wall speakers from all stations on the system
    • Door communications with optional door release features

    System Components

    The RETRO system is a complete component-based system with the flexibility to meet specific needs. Choose a combination of up to 13 of the following components to build a completely customized music distribution and intercom system:

    Component Description
    RETRO-M Master Station Main interface that controls music and intercom functions, volume, bass/treble, clock settings, and more. The integrated Portable Music Player (PMP) Bay can be heard from any Room or Patio Station.
    RETRO-5R Room Station In-wall intercoms in rooms throughout the home that enable selection between intercom, radio, and portable music sources. Includes communication with other stations, including Master and Door stations. Ceiling or in-wall speakers can be added.
    RETRO-5P Patio Station Weather-resistant station with Room Station functionality, designed for outdoor installation in protected areas such as a patio or porch. Outdoor cube or rock speakers can be added.
    RETRO-D Door Station Weather-resistant station for outdoor installation in protected areas. Enables communication with other stations for guest verification before opening the door, with optional door or gate release. Includes a selection of door chimes.
    RETRO Room Adaptor and Trim Plates Optional hardware designed to fully cover existing intercom wall openings, eliminating the need for drywall repair. Covers holes for vertical or horizontal stations, including stations up to 8" large.

    Component Bundles

    • RETRO-MVPAC: Includes all components of a typical system for existing systems with vertically-oriented wall stations — Master Station, 5 Room Stations, 1 Patio Station, 1 Door Station, and 6 RETRO-5RV vertical trim plates.
    • RETRO-MHPAC: Includes all components of a typical system for existing systems with horizontally-oriented wall stations — Master Station, 5 Room Stations, 1 Patio Station, 1 Door Station, and 6 RETRO-5RH horizontal trim plates.

    Accessories and Enhancements

    • Bluetooth Receiver: Multi-use adapter that Bluetooth-enables any music device with a 3.5mm jack — stream from a phone to the RETRO system while keeping the phone close at hand, or plug into a stereo/home theater system. Comes with USB or household power cords.
    • ACABLE: 18" cable with a 3.5mm plug to connect personal music players to the RETRO-M Master Station.
    • IREMOTE: Full-function handheld remote control for the RETRO-M Master Station.
    • RETRO-VC Volume Control: Indoor amplified volume control with two-source option, typically used in rooms with no need for a Room Station.
