    Installation instructions for the Inovonics EN1702 Dual Analog Sensor Transmitter — an EchoStream wireless device that transmits analog data from one or two external sensors back to a receiving system.

    Overview

    The EN1702 transmits analog sensor data wirelessly from one or two external sensors, supporting 0–5V, 0–10V, or 4–20mA sensor output ranges. It's factory-programmed and typically does not require reprogramming.

    Install / Replace the Battery

    1. Pry the top lip of the mounting bracket up and lift the bracket off the transmitter.
    2. Depress the housing release tab with your thumb and separate the housing.
    3. If replacing a battery, use the hole in the back of the housing to push the old battery out of its holder.
    4. Install the new battery.
    5. Press the Reset button to initialize the transmitter. If replacing a battery, the transmitter's most recent programming is restored automatically upon initialization.

    Select the Frequency Band

    EchoStream products support a range of radio frequencies and must be configured for your geographic area.

    1. Place a selection jumper on the appropriate frequency band selection pins:
      • Left two pins, marked AU — 915–928 MHz for Australia
      • Right two pins, marked NZ — 921–928 MHz for New Zealand
      • No jumper — 902–928 MHz for North America
    2. Press the Reset button to complete configuration.

    Attach Analog Sensors and Select Output Range

    Connect the analog sensor(s) to one or both terminal blocks. Note: sensor cable length must not exceed three feet.

    1. Place a selection jumper on the appropriate sensor output selection pins:
      • Bottom two pins, marked 4-20mA — selects 4–20mA output
      • Middle two pins, marked 0-10V — selects 0–10V range
      • Top two pins, marked 0-5V — selects 0–5V range
    2. Use a small screwdriver to attach the external sensor wiring leads to the appropriate terminal blocks (GND, output range pins for first sensor and second sensor).
    3. If the battery is already installed, press the Reset button to complete the procedure.

    Program the Transmitter

    EN1702 transmitters are programmed at the factory and typically don't need reprogramming. If needed, parameters can be changed using the programming header.

    Mount the Transmitter

    1. Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using the included hardware. There are two standard mounting holes; an optional third hole is located under the battery and can be used to secure the housing to the bracket.
    2. Hook the bottom of the transmitter into the bracket's bottom catch, then press it into the bracket so the top lip snaps into place.

    Regulatory / FCC

    This equipment complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules for a Class B digital device, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. If interference to radio/TV reception occurs, try reorienting the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different outlet circuit, or consulting a technician.

    Operation is subject to: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

    Warranty

    Inovonics warrants EchoStream products to conform to specification and be free of material/workmanship defects for 36 months from date of manufacture. Within the warranty period, Inovonics will repair or replace the product at its option (dismantling/reinstallation charges not covered). Warranty service is arranged through the authorized distributor with an RMA number. The warranty is void for improper installation, misuse, failure to follow instructions, alteration, accident, tampering, or repair by anyone other than Inovonics.
