    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation instructions for the Inovonics EN1238D EchoStream® Double Condition Pendant Transmitter — a two-button wireless pendant that sends two distinct conditions.

    Overview

The EN1238D is a two-button pendant transmitter able to send two conditions. It must be used with an EchoStream EN4000 or EN4200 serial receiver, or the EN6040 network coordinator. The application controller (e.g. control panel) must be designed to accept the two conditions.

    Components

    • A — Reset button
    • B — Frequency band selection pins
    • C — Battery

    Installation and Startup

    1. Install/Replace the Battery

    1. Pry the housing apart at either end and pull the two halves apart
    2. If replacing a battery, remove the old battery
    3. Install the new battery
    4. Press the Reset button to initialize the transmitter

    2. Select the Frequency Band

    1. Pry the housing apart at either end and pull the two halves apart
    2. Place a selection jumper on the appropriate frequency band selection pins:
      • No jumper → 902-928 MHz for North America
      • Bottom pins (marked NZ) → 921-928 MHz for New Zealand
      • Top two pins (marked AU) → 915-928 MHz for Australia
    3. Press the Reset button to complete configuration

Caution: When pressing Reset, don't also touch the frequency band selection pins — this can inadvertently set the pendant to the wrong frequency band.

    3. Register the EN1238D

The EN1238D must be registered with the system to be monitored and supervised. When supervised, it sends a check-in message to the serial receiver or network coordinator — every 12 minutes for 868MHz (Europe) pendants, every three minutes for all others. Each pendant has a unique factory-programmed ID number; refer to the control panel's installation instructions for registration details.

    1. When prompted by the receiver to reset the transmitter, press the Reset button
    2. Replace the cover

    Operation

Caution: Test the EchoStream system regularly by activating both EN1238D conditions and confirming the appropriate response.

    Activating EN1238D Conditions

To send the first condition, press and hold either the left or right pendant button for one second. To send the second condition, press and hold both buttons simultaneously for one second. Condition signals are transmitted multiple times, indicated by the blinking transmission LED. When the buttons are released, the transmitter sends a condition restoral signal. Inovonics recommends testing the transmitter at least once per week.

    Converting the EN1238D Belt Clip

To convert the belt clip to a belt loop, secure the bottom of the belt clip to the housing with a coarse thread screw.
