Haven Lockdown Motion Sensor — Pairing & Installation Instructions

Model: HL1-MS-001. Pairing and installation guide for the Haven Motion Sensor, used with the Haven Lockdown door lock to auto-unlock via motion at the door handle.

    Tools Needed

    • 3/32" drill bit
    • Phillips head screwdriver
    • Pen or paperclip

    Pairing

    1. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the 4 screws on the front of the motion sensor and remove the top to expose the circuit components and batteries in the base.
    2. Make sure the coin cell (on the back of the circuit board) and the 9V backup battery are both properly installed.
    3. Make sure the cover is off the Lockdown unit and the Admin button is accessible.
    4. Use a pen (or similar) to push and hold the PAIR button, located on the back of the motion sensor housing, until a flashing white light appears on the circuit board.
    5. Once the motion sensor light is flashing white, press and release the Admin button on the Lockdown unit and release the PAIR button on the motion sensor AT THE SAME TIME. Keep the Lockdown unit and motion sensor in close proximity during this step.
    6. The light on the Lockdown unit and the light on the motion sensor circuit board will cycle together for a few seconds, and an audible beep will sound when pairing is complete.
    7. Your motion sensor is now paired to your Lockdown unit and will only unlock that unit.

    Installation

    1. Once paired, locate the mounting holes on the back of the motion sensor housing. Place the housing on the door so the bottom of the motion sensor is 5 inches above the door handle, and mark your pilot holes.
    2. Using a 3/32" drill bit, drill your pilot holes for the screws.
    3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver (or a drill driver with a Phillips bit), screw the motion sensor housing onto the door above the door handle.
    4. Replace the cover and secure the 4 front cover screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.
    5. Your motion sensor should now be ready to use.
    6. Test unlocking with the motion sensor: lock the unit (manually or with key fob), then place your hand on the door handle. Lockdown should unlock within one second.
