    September 08, 2026 2 min read

Overview brochure for GreatCall's 5Star Urgent Response — a portable, single-button personal emergency response service with 24/7 trained agents and nationwide coverage.

    Full text manual (for reference)

5Star Urgent Response by GreatCall is a portable, single-button medical alert and personal safety service — press the button on the 5Star Responder to connect immediately to a highly-trained 5Star Agent, anywhere there's wireless coverage.

    How It Works

Press the button on the compact, portable 5Star Responder and you're immediately connected to a highly-trained 5Star Agent. Using GPS technology, advanced location analysis, and information from your Personal Profile, Agents determine your location, assess the situation, and get you the help you need — including conferencing in emergency contacts, accessing your medical information, or dispatching 9-1-1 emergency services if needed.

No contracts. No cancellation fees. No equipment to install.

    Key Features

    • Reliable nationwide coverage, powered by one of the nation's largest and most reliable wireless networks
    • Enhanced location technology — GPS plus "frequent locations" info from your Personal Profile, with an online locator at mygreatcall.com
    • 5Star Response Agents available 24/7, certified by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch
    • In a critical emergency, bypass an Agent and connect directly to 9-1-1 by pressing and holding the Responder button for 5 seconds
    • Multilingual translation support in over 100 languages
    • Free 24-hour access to LiveNurse — a registered nurse available any time, no extra fees, English or Spanish
    • Single-button operation, powerful speakerphone, simple indicator lights

When to Use 5Star Urgent Response

    • Emergency (unsure if you should call 9-1-1) — chest pain or trouble breathing, a child's medical allergy issue, a reaction to food/medication/insect bite, witnessing an accident
    • Threat — a stranger approaching in a dark parking lot, a child being followed or threatened, suspecting someone in your house
    • Danger — lost or disoriented in a new city, a stranger's car in the driveway, strange noises at night, a parent's health history
    • Anxiety — a child lost on a field trip, wanting to locate a family member, not wanting to burden family for routine check-ins

    Your Personal Profile

Contains emergency contacts and medical conditions to help Agents assist you quickly and safely. Secured by a certified data center, HIPAA compliant, and only shared with first responders in an emergency.

    Pricing
