    Data sheet for the Global Caché Flex Link Serial Cables (RS232, RS232 Mini Jack, and RS485) — accessory cables that connect serial devices to Global Caché Flex family IoT gateways for network control and automation.

    Overview

    The Global Caché Flex is a compact IoT gateway that connects almost any electronic device — IR, serial, or relay/sensor — to a WiFi or TCP/IP network, allowing it to be controlled and automated by any controller, from proprietary control systems to smartphone apps. Flex Link Serial cables let serial devices (RS232, RS232 Mini Jack, or RS485) plug directly into the Flex's 3.5mm jack for protocol translation to the network.

    Cable Types

    • Flex Link RS232 Serial Cable: Standard DB9 connector, allows pin-swapping/configuration for null modem or straight-through use.
    • Flex Link RS232 Mini Jack Cable: 3.5mm mini jack connector for direct connection to TVs and AV devices with mini jack RS232/serial inputs.
    • Flex Link RS485 Serial Cable: 5-pin screw terminal block, supports full or half duplex (RS422 compatible).

    Other Flex Link cable types available: Relay & Sensor, IR Blaster, IR Emitter, 3 IR Emitters, 2 Emitters & 1 Blaster, IR Tri-port.
