    Mounting the Fingerprint Scanner

    • Mounting height: 155 cm or higher is required. Correct mounting height is essential for reliable, flawless operation.
    • Leave approximately one hand's width of clearance on both sides of the fingerprint scanner for the device to function without interference.
    • A counter-sink cut into the door leaf or door frame is required before mounting the fingerprint scanner and control panel.
    • Mounting options: in a timber door leaf, or in a profile / frontplate / control board installation.

    Control Panel — Wall Mounting

    1. Install the mounting rail (35mm DIN rail) first.
    2. Lock the control panel onto the mounting rail.
    3. The control panel can also be mounted in a control cabinet on a standard 35mm DIN rail.
    4. To access wiring, lift the casing lid's release tab lightly and pull the lid up.

    Electrical Wiring

    • Relay contacts: C = Common, NO = normally open (contact closes when activated), NC = normally closed (contact opens when activated).
    • Channels 2 and 3 are only available on the ekey home 3 and ekey home PC models.
    • RJ45 pin assignment (ekey Fingerscanner integra): Pin 4 = RS485 Terminal 1 (green wire), Pin 5 = RS485 Terminal 2 (yellow wire), Pin 7 = power supply to fingerprint scanner Terminal 3 (brown wire), Pin 8 = power supply to fingerprint scanner Terminal 4 (white wire). Note: cable colors are only valid when using cable Type A from ekey biometric systems.
    • The control panel and fingerprint scanner must be connected with a 4-core cable, core diameter 0.14mm². For distances over 50m, use a cable with a larger core diameter for the live cores (connections 3 and 4). Maximum cable length between the fingerprint scanner and control panel is 500m.
    • Route the connection cable between the control panel and fingerprint scanner separately from the building's electrical installations — these are low-voltage signal lines that can be disrupted by adjacent live cables.
    • An ekey CONVERTER LAN accessory is available for ekey net systems, connecting via RJ45/LAN to a PC.
    • A potential-free contact is provided for controlling door closings, motorized locks, and similar devices.

Warning: The connections do not have reverse polarity protection — an incorrect electrical connection can damage the device. Electrical connections and mains connection may only be performed by qualified specialists.
