Set your panel into program mode (refer to your specific alarm panel manual for details). When prompted by the panel:
Alternately, the 7-digit serial number printed on the back of the unit can be manually entered into the panel. For 2GIG systems, the equipment code is 0637.
Included with the contact is double-sided tape for the sensor and the magnet. For reliable bonding, ensure the surface is clean and dry. Apply the tape to the sensor and then to the desired location, applying firm pressure for several seconds. It is not recommended to mount the tape at temperatures below 50°F, though after 24 hours the bond will hold at low temperatures.
The sensor's marked side (3 lines) indicates the location of the reed switch — mount the magnet facing this side, no further than 5/8" away. A mounting back plate with screws is also provided: screw the back plate onto the mounting surface and snap the sensor onto it.
To remove the sensor from the mounting plate: remove the cover, then use a small flat-head screwdriver to press the plastic tab (near the battery, at the bottom of the sensor) toward the wall and slide the sensor up.
Note: Do not use the tape to secure the mounting plate to the wall.
The contact ships assembled with a white cover; an optional brown cover is included. To swap covers, slide the front cover to disengage it from the sensor, then remove and replace with the desired cover, ensuring the "Top" marking (on the inside of the cover) points away from the battery. You should hear a click when the cover engages/disengages. The magnet cover can be swapped the same way — gently pry the white cover off with a flat-head screwdriver and snap the brown cover in place.
