    Installation Steps

    1. Identify the location of the existing dual-gang rocker light switch.
    2. Remove the switch plate cover(s) of the existing switches, saving the screws.
    3. Remove the switch plate cover of the Z-Wave Plus Smart Switch with a flat-head screwdriver.
    4. Install the first smart switch on the left existing switch, oriented so batteries face left; install the second on the right switch, oriented so batteries face right.
    5. Install the 4 AA batteries provided.
    6. Follow the Network Inclusion steps below.
    7. If the rocking action needs adjustment, turn the two adjustment screws indicated by red circles on the unit.
    8. If the switch operates inverted (turns ON instead of OFF, or vice versa), toggle the orientation switch (red rectangle) to fix it.
    9. Snap the covers back onto the smart switches to finish installation.

    Network Inclusion / Exclusion

The switch must be added to a Z-Wave Plus network before use.

    Inclusion:

    1. Verify your Z-Wave Plus controller is compatible with the Smart Switch.
    2. Put your controller into add (inclusion) mode.
    3. Press the inclusion/exclusion button on the Smart Switch.
    4. The LED on the front turns off if inclusion succeeded.

Exclusion: Put the controller into exclusion mode, then press the inclusion/exclusion button on the Smart Switch. The LED blinks steadily if exclusion succeeded.

    LED Status

    LED behavior Meaning
Blinking Device not included in a network
    On Device in Learn mode
Blink (low-power) Lower power mode, remote control off

    Battery & Factory Reset

When batteries are low the switch alerts the user; while low, remote control is disabled but state reporting continues until batteries are fully depleted. The device auto-factory-defaults when removed from a Z-Wave Plus network — use this only if the primary controller is missing/inoperable.

    Z-Wave Plus Technical Info

Implements Z-Wave Plus Network Wide Inclusion and supports the Basic Command Class for backward compatibility (Basic Set 0xFF turns the switch on; 0x00 turns it off). Two Association groups of 5 nodes each are supported: Group 1 is the lifeline group (sends Switch Binary Reports); Group 2 sends Basic Reports. Network Wide Inclusion allows adding the device over the mesh network without being near the main controller.

    FCC / IC Compliance

Complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standards. FCC ID: XQC-DDLS2ZWAVE5. IC: 9863B-DDLS2ZWAVE5.
