    Installation instructions for DataComm Electronics' 50-3321-WH-KIT Flat Panel TV Cable Organizer Remodeling Kit with Power Outlet — a two-piece system that recesses a power outlet and hides A/V cabling behind a wall-mounted flat panel TV.

    ⚠️ Only Licensed Professionals Should Install This Product

    • For shock protection, the receptacle must be properly grounded. Use copper wire only.
    • Switch off the circuit breaker (or remove the fuse) before any wiring.
    • Do not use near water — bathtubs, sinks, laundry tubs, wet basements, or pools.

    Parts Included

    • Recessed Cable Plate with Recessed Power Outlet

    • Single Gang Low Voltage Mounting Bracket

    Tools needed: drywall saw, 6 ft. tape measure, pencil, screwdriver.

    Installing the Power Outlet — New Construction

    1. Have a licensed electrician install a power outlet on the wall at the TV location.
    2. With power off to the circuit, remove the electrician-installed receptacle and wall plate.
    3. Align the template's left edge with the left side of the electrical work box, then trace the opening needed for the recessed cable plate.
    4. Wire the receptacle on the back of the Recessed Cable Plate (RCP): hot (black) to the brass terminal, neutral (white) to the silver terminal, ground (green/bare) to the green terminal screw.

    Installing the Power Outlet — Retrofit

    1. Determine the TV mounting bracket location; use the supplied template to trace the opening, accounting for nearby studs.
    2. Cut the drywall opening with a drywall knife/saw.
    3. Insert and securely fasten a single-gang retrofit workbox.
    4. Turn off the circuit breaker (or remove fuses) before wiring, then run power to the workbox and wire it the same way as above (hot=black/brass, neutral=white/silver, ground=green/bare).

    Final Installation Steps (New & Retrofit)

    1. Insert the wired receptacle portion of the RCP into the electrical work box; once flush with the wall, secure it with the two supplied white screws, then tighten the wing screws against the back of the drywall.
    2. Install the low-voltage mounting bracket directly below the RCP, parallel to the existing outlet. Fish A/V cables through the recessed portion of the RCP, through the wall, and out through the low-voltage mounting bracket opening.
    3. Pull the A/V wires through the recessed opening in the single-gang recessed cable plate, then insert that plate into the mounted low-voltage bracket and secure with the included screws.
    4. Connect your A/V cables to your equipment, then switch the circuit breaker back ON.
    5. Install your flat panel TV mounting bracket per the bracket manufacturer's instructions.

    Single Gang Recessed Cable Plate (Low Voltage Only)

    Also included/available separately: a Single Gang Recessed Cable Plate for routing low-voltage/data cables behind an amplifier or other A/V device — for low voltage/data cables ONLY, not for power wiring.

    1. Determine the mounting location, cut an opening, and install the low-voltage mounting bracket.
    2. Pull low-voltage cables through the mounting bracket, then through the recessed cable plate.
    3. Insert the recessed cable plate into the mounting bracket and secure it with the supplied wall plate screws.
    4. Connect your A/V cables to your equipment.

    Low-Voltage Safety Cautions

    • Never install low-voltage wiring during lightning storms.
    • Never install low-voltage wiring in wet locations unless the wire is rated for wet locations.
    • Never touch uninsulated low-voltage wires or terminals unless disconnected at the source.
