    September 08, 2026 1 min read

Wiring instructions for the Dakota Alert DAWHISTLE 12V DC accessory whistle.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Wiring instructions for connecting the Dakota Alert DAWHISTLE — a 12V DC accessory whistle, bell, siren, or strobe that activates when a Dakota Alert sensor signal is received.

    Wiring Instructions

The red and black leads from the whistle (or bell, siren, strobe, etc.) are for a 12 Volt DC input:

    • Connect the red lead to the (+) terminal of the 12 Volt DC output
    • Connect the black lead to the (−) terminal of the 12 Volt DC output

The whistle/accessory activates for about 4 seconds when a signal is received. To run the accessory to a remote location, use 2-strand wire between the output and the desired location.
