    What's in the Box

Verify your package includes the ClearPower Battery Backup unit, an output cable, and an AC adapter. If anything is missing or damaged, contact your vendor or ClearSounds customer support. Your receipt is required for warranty — please retain it.

    Getting Familiar

The unit has a Battery Life Indicator Panel with an OUT jack, an IN jack, and two USB jacks — USB1 (for mobile phones) and USB2 (for tablets) — plus a Battery Power Indicator Button on top.

    Step 1: Charge

    1. Before first use, connect the power adapter to the IN jack.
    2. Plug the power adapter into the wall.
    3. Charge the ClearPower for at least 12 hours before first use.

Step 2: Connect to Your Devices

Option 1 — Backup Power for Corded Electronics

    1. Connect the small plug of the output cable to the OUT jack on the ClearPower unit; connect the large plug to the power adapter jack on the phone or device you want to back up.
    2. Plug the ClearPower AC power adapter into the IN jack on the unit, then into the wall outlet.

In the event of a power outage, the ClearPower will continue to power whatever device is plugged into it for up to 4 days of regular use. Press and hold the Battery Indicator Button on top of the unit to check status — there are 5 LED indicator lights; all 5 lit means fully charged, and only 1 lit means 20% battery remaining (recharge at this point).

Option 2 — Portable Battery Charger for Mobile Devices

Make sure the ClearPower is fully charged before taking it out as a portable charger — press and hold the Battery Use Indicator button to check. All 5 lights lit means fully charged and ready to go; if only 2–3 lights appear, charge it up first or bring the power adapter along.

The unit has 2 USB output jacks that accommodate any 5V mobile device charger:

    • USB1 — 1 amp output, suitable for any mobile phone.
    • USB2 — 2 amp output, suitable for an iPad or Android tablet.

To charge a phone, plug its own charging cable into the phone, then plug the USB end into the USB1 jack. To charge a tablet, plug its USB charging cord into the USB2 jack. Both a phone and a tablet can be charged simultaneously.

Average charging times (device at 0% battery): Mobile phone — 3 hours; Tablet — 4 hours.

Note: Most mobile phones ship with a USB power adapter that detaches from the AC plug and can be used with any USB output jack, including the ClearPower's. The ClearPower Battery Back-up System works with electronic devices operating on 6V–9V DC power.

    Warranty

Your ClearPower Battery Backup comes with a 1-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal use. If the product fails within one year due to a covered defect, return it with proof of purchase (sales receipt or packing slip, no exceptions) to ClearSounds Communications.

ClearSounds will repair or replace the unit (with a refurbished unit or one of equal condition) and return it via UPS/USPS ground shipping at no cost to you. Warranty replacement/repair is covered for 90 days or the remainder of the original warranty period, whichever is longer.

The warranty does not cover accidents, negligence, breakage, shipping damage, failure to follow instructions, misuse, fire, floods, use of incompatible accessories, acts of God, or carrier line service failures. The product must not be tampered with or disassembled by anyone other than an authorized ClearSounds representative — doing so voids the warranty.

To make a warranty claim, contact Customer Service by phone or at www.clearsounds.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and shipping instructions before returning the product — shipments without an RMA number will be returned at your expense. Include proof of purchase and a brief explanation of the problem. Out-of-warranty repairs are also available on request; repairs are warranted for 90 days.

Important: Your receipt is part of your warranty and must be retained and produced for any warranty claim.
