    Overview

The DMD-16 distributes DSL or cable modem data connections to up to 7 computers via data jacks in remote wall plates, as part of a structured wiring enclosure. Installation Diagrams

The full PDF illustrates two typical installation scenarios:

    • DSL connection: DSL modem → residential gateway (model 8157) → DMD-16 → up to 7 data jacks in remote wall plates for connected computers. Many modems can be mounted using an MB-55 or MB-56 mounting bracket.
    • Cable connection: Cable company feed → filter/splitter (to TVs and cable modem) → cable modem → residential gateway (model 8157) → DMD-16 → up to 7 data jacks for connected computers.

    Wiring Reference

8-Position Modular Connector (RJ-45, wired to TIA T568A standard)

    Pin order for Ethernet (both 10BaseT and 100BaseT): PR3, PR2, PR1, PR2, PR4, PR3, PR4, PR1 across positions 1–8, using T/R (tip/ring) pairs — see the downloadable PDF for the exact pinout diagram.

    110 Connector Wiring

The 110 block is a sophisticated insulation displacement connection system. To push wires between the contact blades, use only a 110 punch-down tool — using a screwdriver may not seat the wire properly and can damage the contacts. Keep the cable sheath close to the connector and untwist conductors no more than 0.5" max before terminating.
