Quick start guide for the Chamberlain KLIK3U Universal Remote Control (Models KLIK3U-BK2, KLIK3U-BL2, KLIK3U-SS, KLIK3U-RT1, KLIK3U-RT2). This remote can be programmed to activate up to two products — such as a garage door opener, gate operator, or commercial door operator. Each button works independently and must be programmed separately.

    Safety Warnings

    • Read instructions thoroughly BEFORE beginning. If using with residential door openers, the remote must only be used with openers manufactured after 1993 that utilize photoelectric sensors (located on or near the bottom of the door track).
    • Always keep remote controls out of reach of children — never let children operate or play with remote transmitters.
    • Activate the gate or door only when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted, and there are no obstructions to travel.
    • Always keep the gate or door in sight until it's completely closed — never let anyone cross the path of a moving gate or door.

    Getting Started

Determine whether the product you're programming has a Program/LEARN button or DIP switches — these are located either on the product itself or in an external receiver on/near the product. The steps below cover Program/LEARN button setups. For DIP switch instructions, visit chamberlain.com/klik3.

    Programming Steps

    1. Remove the remote's cover. Press and hold the program button until its LED turns on.
    2. Press and release the Program/LEARN button on your garage door opener.
    3. Select which remote button to program. Press and release that button the number of times specified in the compatibility chart below, making sure the LED stops flashing between each press. The garage door opener will respond by clicking, blinking, or activating.
    4. Press the program button on the remote to save.
