The Wave Motion Sensor US can be included into Shelly or Z-Wave compatible smart homes via a connection with a Z-Wave compatible hub or the Shelly Smart Control app. Use the Sensor to activate automations like turning On/Off Z-Wave light switches based on recently detected movement or ambient light levels at certain times of day. Enjoy enhanced home automation control and precise monitoring of your Shelly devices no matter where you are with the Shelly Smart Control app. The app connects to Shelly's cloud service to help you control your connected devices remotely and send notifications for all automated events in your home directly to your smart device. You can easily configure devices and manage their settings individually, or you can create personalized scenes by combining Shelly devices to trigger certain actions in your home automation. The Shelly Smart Control App supports real-time power metering with power management (PM) devices, smart plugs, and smart bulbs in order to allow you to build complex automation solutions for improved energy efficiency and lower electricity bills.

Installation Details

The Shelly Wave Motion Sensor US mounts onto flat surfaces using the included adhesive tape. To ensure optimal signal strength, the Sensor should be placed within range of a Z-Wave-compatible hub network. Once installed, pair the device with the Shelly Smart Control application by pressing and holding the push button on the back of the sensor for 10 seconds. This same process is used to pair the sensor with another.

The Wave Motion Sensor US is not a standalone device, it must be paired with a compatible Z-Wave hub in order to operate.

Z-Wave Plus v3 Certification

Z-Wave Plus v3 is an upgraded Z-Wave certification program to help you identify products that take advantage of the latest Z-Wave hardware platform, also known as 800 Series or Gen8 Z-Wave. Z-Wave Plus v3 compatible devices include extended wireless relay range up to 130 feet (40m) to the nearest Z-Wave device, three layers of encryption, faster operation, and longer battery life.

Z-Wave LR Certification

Z-Wave LR extends Z-Wave connectivity beyond the boundaries of a single building with increased range and coverage and optimized battery life. Z-Wave LR devices operate on a star network topology which features a Z-Wave LR compatible gateway/hub at a central point and then establishes a direct connection to devices. ZWLR compatible devices offer up to 262 ft (80 m) indoor range line of sight and 1 mile (1.6km) outdoor without using any other Z-Wave devices as a signal relay or node. Z-Wave networks can support both Z-Wave LR and traditional Z-Wave nodes can co-exist within the same network, enabling a wide variety and combination of Z-Wave devices and Z-Wave LR devices.
