Add Remote Power Measurement and Control to Your Power Outlets

Add remote monitoring and scheduled power management to your home, office, or business with the NETIO PowerPDU 8KB Smart Power Distribution Unit, 8 Metered NEMA 5-15R Outputs. This NETIO PowerPDU is a professional-grade power distribution unit (PDU) that features individually metered power outputs that offer precise energy monitoring and remote On/Off/Reset control of connected devices. This model includes 8 metered & switched power outputs (8x NEMA 5-15R), a 1x DI (Digital Input) for an external dry contact or sensor, and a NETIO T1 Temperature Sensor.

The Power PDU connects to a local network via Ethernet to allow for remote monitoring and integration into IT management systems, home automation platforms, and private control networks through ready made AV drivers or open API integration with various connectivity and network protocols. Receive real time energy consumption information and remotely turn On/Off or power cycle a single or group of outlets from your mobile device or remote computer via the NETIO Cloud service, web dashboard, or with the NETIO mobile app. With built-in LAN control, SSL-secured cloud access, and broad third-party system integration, the PowerPDU 8KB provides unmatched flexibility and automation capabilities.

  • Power distribution unit (PDU) with eight NEMA 5-15R metered and remote controllable power outputs and 1 digital input (DI) for a dry contact or temperature sensor
  • Each outlet can be switched On/Off/Reset, scheduled to turn On/Off/Reset, and send power consumption data from the NETIO Mobile 2 app and/or NETIO Cloud service
  • Included T1 Temperature Sensor connects via the digital input for conditional triggering of selected outlets and early warning of extreme temperatures
  • Individually control and monitor outlets or group together for synchronized operation
  • Secure LAN connectivity with multiple supported API protocols (JSON, XML, SNMP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, Telnet, and more) guards from remote intrusion
  • Type 3 surge protection, IP 30 protection, and durable industrial-grade design
  • 3rd party integrations with FIBARO, Flic, Control4, ELAN, Savant, elgato, and more

The NETIO PowerPDU 8KB is designed for medium to large scale installations that can benefit from advanced remote power control and monitoring. Built-in electrical metering allows users and admins to track real-time consumption, set alerts, and manage load distribution across systems. Each outlet can be independently switched on or off, reset, or scheduled according to operational needs, helping to reduce downtime and optimize energy usage. NETIO PowerPDUs use proprietary Zero Current Switching (ZCS) technology that dramatically reduces wear on internal relays when cycling power to high-inrush equipment like servers or AV gear.

The PowerPDU 8KB enhances automation with advanced scheduling functions and power-up sequencing—allowing for customizable schedules, regular power cycles, and grouped control for each outlet. Its Digital Input (DI) port connects with dry contact switches or NETIO T1 temperature sensors to allow for additional rule-based actions like on-demand On/Off/Reset control, smart thermostat control when temperature setpoints are reached, or other conditional triggers.

The NETIO PowerPDU 8KB is compatible with a variety of control and monitoring systems through an extensive list of open API protocols and integrations with major automation platforms such as Crestron, Control4, Savant, RTI, Utelogy, and Atlona. This flexibility makes it ideal for integration with automation platforms, network management systems, and custom IoT solutions.

NETIO Mobile 2

Control your NETIO devices from your mobile device through the NETIO Mobile 2 mobile application for iOS and Android. The NETIO Mobile 2 app allows you to control multiple NETIO smart PDUs, strips, sockets and cables from your mobile device when sharing a local Wi-Fi network. If you have a subscription with the NETIO Cloud Service (sold separately) you can stay connected to your devices from anywhere, instead of having to be connected within the same Wi-Fi network.

From the NETIO Mobile App users can:

  • Add/remove NETIO devices to your account
  • Control individual power outputs or an entire NETIO PDU– ON, OFF, or RESET
  • Read power consumption data (A, W, Wh)
  • Activate / deactivate scheduled functions per each output
  • Group outlets or NETIO devices together for synchronized control
  • Output grouping – default group per one device can be changed individually
  • Group control - Switch the whole group of outputs On / Off
  • Group control - Activate / deactivate scheduled function for individual outputs, individual devices, or groups of devices
  • Sorting of outputs within groups (by function or location)

NETIO Cloud

NETIO Cloud is a paid subscription service that provides users remote monitoring and control applications of their personal or business infrastructure from anywhere with an Internet connection. From one screen you can control dozens of electrical devices.

Through NETIO Cloud, users can review the power consumption of devices plugged into a PDU outlet or send On/Off/Restart (power cycle) commands to individual or groups of PDU power outlets. Multiple NETIO PDUs can be connected to one account and users can control PDU output(s) from the NETIO Mobile app for iOS & Android or the NETIO Cloud Service web dashboard.

From the NETIO Cloud UI users can:

  • Utilize all functions of the NETIO Mobile app
  • Create multi-user profiles for sharing devices in one account
  • Define User Rights (roles) for remote access control
  • Receive PDU Connection Alert feature sends email notifications for PDU disconnections due to connection or power failure
  • Group and sub-group structure of PDU devices and outlets
  • Search for available outlets and groups of outlets or devices
  • Download Historical Power Measurement Data
  • Receive remote firmware upgrades

Installation Details

NETIO Power PDUs plug into a standard grounded outlet with the included power cord and connect to the Internet via Ethernet/LAN connection. Power PDUs fit into 1U racks or can be placed atop a flat surface. Simply place the PDU in your rack or designated area, connect it to your router or access point, plug in your equipment to the outlets, and configure settings via the web interface for immediate operation.
