Connect Multiple Devices Over A Network

The Global Caché Global Connect GC4 with IR Port and CC Relays allows you to connect relay/contact closure and IR devices to a network. This module provides 3 emitter IR ports/sensor inputs and 6 contact closure relays. It connects to the Internet via Ethernet and includes a 4 Slot, 6-inch freestanding chassis and power supply.

6 Contact Closure Relays

This contact closure module is designed to connect relay/contact closure devices to a wired Ethernet network and it provides relay outputs which allow control of a variety of devices. Contact closure relays use a simple dry contact to trigger a relay event by controlling power delivered to voltage or contact inputs. To switch a relay, press the desired ports toggle to turn it On or Off. The relay will change to the set state. All remaining configuration will be done in the chosen control software.

3 Emitter IR Ports/Sensor Inputs (3 Emitters/1 Blaster included)

Infrared modules can control any device that utilizes an IR remote. In addition to IR control the IR ports can be configured for Sensor Input. This allows for the use of iTach sensor cables for sensing the presence of voltage, contact closure, or composite video.

IR Emitters:

IR emitters are short-range IR transmitters designed to physically transmit IR signals to a single device while avoiding cross-talk with neighboring devices. Visible IR emitters, such as the emitters included with this module have a range of around 1 inch (2.5 cm). Due to the short range of IR emitters it is important to place the IR emitters directly on top of the IR receiver of the controlled device.

IR Blasters:

IR Blasters are long-range IR transmitters designed to control devices across the room or to control multiple devices that are near each other. The IR blaster included with this module is designed to transmit up to 35 feet (10 meters).

Single Ethernet Network Module

Each Global Connect includes a network module. The network module provides the network connection and power input for the entire unit. Network modules can be powered with any power supply between 5v and 24V DC. All Global Connect units ship with an appropriately rated power supply.

Installation Details

The Global Connect is a freestanding chassis that can placed on your entertainment stand or in your office or server room. Connect Global Connect to your home network via Ethernet.

Global Caché Global Connect uses an online web tool to set up and configure each module installed in the Global Connect chassis. Additionally, Global Caché has a list of partner apps and software that can integrate with their online web tool and even allow for remote control of your connected devices.

To configure the Global Connect, download and run Global Caché's iHelp program. The program will detect the individual IP addresses for each of the modules installed. Select the module you wish to adjust settings for and apply the relevant changes.
