The Ecolink Z-Wave Plus Siren/Notification Device, Gen5 will alert you with an audible sound whenever it detects a problem using Z-Wave technology. This device is powerfully loud at 105db and features 30 built-in sound options, S2 Security Encryption, a learn-in button, dual-LED indicator lights (green and red), volume control, and a 24-hour battery backup. It will even allow you to use customized sounds by using a Micro-SD card for unique audible alarms.

Adding to a Z-Wave Network via SmartStart

To add via SmartStart, you will need the device's DSK QR-Code which is located on the backside of the device, on the packaging, and on a leaflet within the packaging. Apply power to the device by inserting the device into a wall receptacle, and the device will go into SmartStart inclusion mode. While in this mode, the sensor can be added to a Z-Wave controller that supports SmartStart.

Adding to a Z-Wave Network (Classic Inclusion Method)

Just plug the Ecolink Z-Wave Plus Siren/Notification Device, Gen5 into a wall receptacle and press the Add+Test button (the smaller of the 2 buttons). The device will enter classic inclusion mode, which implements both classic inclusion with a Node Information Frame, and Network Wide Inclusion. During Classic Inclusion mode, the Green LED will blink three times every three seconds. When Classic inclusion times-out, the device will blink red and green.

Z-Wave Plus v2 is an upgraded Z-Wave certification program to help you identify products that take advantage of the latest Z-Wave hardware platform, also known as 700 Series or Gen7 Z-Wave. Z-Wave Plus v2 compatible devices include extended wireless range up to 2600 ft/800 m, three layers of encryption, faster operation, and longer battery life.

NOTE: The sensor must be added to a Z-Wave network prior to use. To include the sensor in a Z-Wave network, both the sensor and the network controller must be in inclusion mode at the same time.
