USE YOUR PHONE TO TRIGGER THE HOME BASE CONTROLLER

TELEMASTER WITH RS232 INTERFACE

The Telemaster with RS232 works similar to the standard Telemaster, but instead interfaces directly with the Home Base controller using the RS232 interface. The Telemaster RS232 lets you use your telephone to transmit a string of numbers to the Home Base to initiate an event using the Home Base's event manager. Events programmed in the event manager, such as controlling lights and appliances using X10 or relay outputs, will then be executed based upon the entered numerical string.

Calling from outside one's home requires a 4-digit security code, but once inside the home, the code is no longer required.

Simple to operate...Dial normally to make phone calls. When wanting to communicate with Home Base, enter the numerical string, followed by pressing the * button.

The Telemaster RS232 is designed for use with the Home Base, Home Base Deluxe, and Home Base Pro automation controllers.

The Telemaster can also be expanded for use as an intercom system. The Intercom Interface (part number MITMSI, sold separately) uses your existing house telephones and allows for conversation between the house phones.

  • TRANSMITTING CODES TO HOME BASE VIA RS232

Using the telephone within the home, a string of up to 10 numbers (0-9) can be transmitted at a time to trigger the Home Base. After picking up the telephone receiver (or causing the telephone to go off-hook), press the numbers to be transmitted and then press the '*' button. "IF-THEN" events in the Home Base will then be executed based upon the numerical string.

  • HEARING IMPAIRED RING DETECTION

Events in the Home Base may be set up to respond to the incoming "ring" signal on the telephone line (such as turning a light on or off). Every time a ring signal occurs, the Telemaster RS232 transmits to Home Base the letter 'R' followed by the ring number (up to 99 rings). For example, on the 6th ring, 'R6' is sent to Home Base in ASCII form; on the 17th ring, 'R17'. An event can then be executed based upon this serial data.

  • SECURITY CODE PROTECTION

Each Telemaster RS232 comes with a pre-assigned 4-digit security code which has to entered whenever the Telemaster is being used outside of the home. From any outside telephone, call the number the Telemaster is connected to. The Telemaster will respond with five beeps prompting the entry of the security code. Once the correct code has been entered, the Telemaster will confirm acceptance of the code by again beeping five times.

The Telemaster with RS232 Interface comes complete with the following:

  • Telemaster with RS232 (Dimensions: 3.75" W x 2.25" H x .875" D)
  • One AC Power Adapter, 12VDC , 200 milliamp output
