This amazing product contains rain, snow, and freeze sensors, and an optional wind sensor. Irrigation is interrupted before, during, and after precipitation, depending on the evaporation rate, wind level, and temperature. The Weathermiser actually senses relative humidity and evaporation rates, which rise and fall, respectively - just before precipitation begins. The relative humidity sensor is adjustable and interrupts irrigation when the ambient relative humidity exceeds the variable dial set point. The dial is set just above the highest average relative humidity for a given geographical area, at a specific time of day. The integrated temperature sensor is factory set to interrupt irrigation at temperatures below 37 degrees F. Recent tests completed in conjunction with the Denver Water Company, the New Mexico State Department of Building Services, and hundreds of industrial/residential users indicated an average of a 35% reduction in irrigation usage.
